If I understand the Rivals.com Football Team Recruiting Rankings Formula correctly, Stevenson's addition to the 2015 class adds 90 points to NU's total. We gained 105 points for his 5.8 RR minus 15 points for Ober's 5.2 RR (formula considers top 20 players in each class, so Ober drops off as #21). As a result, we jumped ahead of Washington, Cal and North Carolina to #28, right behind Missouri.
Considering Riley was hired on December 4 and didn't complete his staff full staff until January 21, a #28 ranking is pretty impressive. Truly a great job of keeping the existing commits on board (esp. Lee, Anderson and the Davis twins), adding some great talent late in the process (Barnett, Stevenson) and completing the class with prospects to fill needs (Snyder, Reed, etc.).
Or to look at things qualitatively, Riley just finished ahead of Chris Petersen's first full class at UW despite being hired exactly two months before Signing Day, moving halfway across the country to unfamiliar territory and having to assemble a staff over that same time period. Not too shabby.
