R.I.P. Gene Hackman.

He had a lot of great movies.. Hoosiers and The Firm. and as a young kid seeing the Poseidon adventure in the theater with my cousins.

Odd that wife and dog passed with him.

My favorite actor...just saw a short video on him past week..he was mentioned as somebody who just quite the biz, no official announcement, just walked away. Loved him in many roles..Unforgiven, Enemy of the State and Hoosiers probably my 3 faves....he had so many great films

Awesome actor - too many films to list but Superman and Hoosiers come to the top of my mind. 95 and those accomplishments - a life well lived.

The Firm.

But for my little brother crying and my mom getting up to tend to him, my entire family wouldn’t have survived a CO leak related to an unknown crack in our year-old gas furnace. I still have a noticeable scar on my chin from falling on the pavement when the fresh air hit me outside the house. I was about ten or eleven years old and CO home monitors weren’t on the market yet. FYI, I still remember that night and although alcohol wasn’t known to me at that age, I do remember staggering and being in a fog much like being severely drunk.

So whether it was CO or not re Hackman’s death, let this be a reminder: Make sure you have at least one CO monitor plugged into an outlet.

Just another sign I'm growing older when all the great actors I grew up with are passing. Gene was a great actor and proud Marine, thanks for all you've done.

I'm a fan of his, so I tried to watch "French Connection" and didn't get very far. But man, Hoosiers, Mississippi Burning, Unforgiven.... it just goes on and on.

Rest in Peace Little Bill.

I remember him in the show Streets of San Francisco with Michael Douglas
What an actor
RIP

I am also checking my CO detector right now and it seems to be working.

hackman spent time with bob knight at indiana practices learning the nuances of coaching at the elite level prior to starring in my favorite sports film "hoosiers." he was an excellent actor.
