Saw '18 QB recruit Yankoff's on the front page...do we have any chance at him?

I think he will be in the class by May. Langs and company has put the full court press on him, showing him he's their number one target.

I'd rather have Brevin White. This is the qb I want the most.

Curious as to why? Colson seems like a perfect blend of some of the rollout/boot action throwing accurately on the run plays we ran with Armstrong(TA not so accurate) and he looks to have decent work through progressions in the pocket. Brevin is athletic also, good arm, don't love his film as much as Colson's. Also haven't seen that NU has offered but isn't White coming up for a visit for the spring game?

I am not as high on Yankoff as others. He has nice size for a QB but he is larger than almost every defensive lineman in his film. Watching his film he doesn't have to make any big boy throws into tight windows. He throws late and doesn't throw receivers open, he waits for them to get open. He makes too many off balance throws, even when he has time. I worry about the level of competition. He has good speed at 4.73 but he runs away from almost everyone on the defense. Some of his throws would be picked off by good teams. A good number of his long runs are sacks or short gains against top level competition.

Brevin White reminds me a lot of Taylor Martinez. Not nearly as polished as a passer, but certainly a good athlete when it's time to tuck the ball and run. Yankoff looks like a much more talented passer from the brief film I watched.

It's hard to tell how good Yankoff is because of the talent he faces in Idaho; White plays against the best in Cali. Plus Yankoff seems more of a runner and I was under the impression the staff wants a more pro-style Qb that is athletic enough to make plays with his feet when needed. BW also throws a great deep ball and that's what cab is about. Accurately throwing deep.

Huskers in Top 3 with Yankoff...I'm not so sure that I don't like Shough better but that's just me

Yankoff's 38 inch vertical is very impressive. He's very moldable - a very good ceiling, good tools to work with and to mold for Langsdorf.

Heres a decent question, who makes it big or better in there career as a Husker...Gebbia or OBrein?? Which one takes us the farthest and ends up doing the most? My guess is both make it to the NFL if drafted or free agency. But torn on which has the biggest splash??

If we recruit another Taylor Martinez at QB I'll set my head on fire!!!

Tough question because it depends on a few variables. If POB wins the job this fall, i will lean toward him. Also depends on if and how quickly Gebbia can put on good weight. He is probably 30-40 lbs too light now. Lastly, what QBs sign with Nebraska this year.

I'll say Gebbia has the better career at Nebraska.

I would say Gebbia needs to put on a minimum of 50 lbs. He's painfully skinny. They list him at 180 but I believe he's closer to 160. He could probably use 60 lbs of lean mass. He's going to improve quite a bit when he puts on muscle and adds a great deal of strength. He has a much higher ceiling than O'Brien.

Put 100 lbs on him if you want. I was just answering the question asked and since I wasn't present for his weigh in, I used the program numbers. Looks like we agree he needs to get to 210-220 as soon as possible.
