Not at all. Every program has stuff like that. Deion is literally peddling the stuff himself, like he’s on late night TV. You really don’t see a difference?
He peddles a lot already, not sure he has time. Enjoyed him as a player because of his elite of elite talent but has always felt as if he is a caricature of a televangelist/ high end used cars salesman.
It’s wild to me that there are actually two coaches like this out there and we play them the first two weeks of the season next year.
One is corny as hell in how he does it and the other tries to be as smooth as possible. Both come across as genuine as possible and as fake as a $3 bill at the same time.
None of our coaches were out selling the shirts. The only coach we had who brought purposeful attention on himself was Pelini with the cat.
Yeah I'm glad he ended up where he did. Personally I think that clip is embarrassing, but I'm guessing it goes over well with the shiny object crowd...AKA, young studs who love the attention.

Deion is discussed a lot more here than he is in Colorado. After the initial splash, sports fans in the Denver metro quickly moved on to whether Brett Rypien should start the rest of the Broncos' games while Russell Wilson seeks out all-you-can-eat holiday buffets.

Will have to revisit this thread after Prime's first few games next season. It will not be easy for him moving to P5 from FCS, even with his flashy recruits.

They told me that coach Deion didn’t want to honor my commitment and hung up the phone. So we hadn’t reached out to any school. It was a whole big deal.”
In all, 13 recruits have parted ways from Colorado’s class since Sanders was hired. Several have already found a new home. Others are in the process of doing so. What bothers at least two former commits, they say, is that Colorado athletic director Rick George called and asked them to remain committed to the program shortly after former coach Karl Dorrell was fired in October.
“I was told by Rick George I was going to have a scholarship regardless of who the coach was going to be,” said Tyrone McDuffie, an offensive lineman from El Paso (Texas) Parkland High. “He called me and my dad and he wanted the 2023 class to stay together. He said I was going to have a chance to be a Colorado Buffalo regardless of who he hired. They even sent former offensive line coach (Kyle) DeVan down to El Paso, Texas, to talk to me and my head coach and tell me stuff is going down, but you’ll still have a chance to be a Colorado Buffalo.
“Nobody from the new coaching staff called me. (Bryant) called me and told me what went down. You could say there was a little bit of anger, frustration. This was our future they were messing with. It sucks because we could’ve been looking instead of having only 16 days before signing day.”

This isn’t UNK. This is big time college football. You get paid now so can’t complain when it’s an arms race.
Definitely a two-way street, especially when players switch at the last minute (ahem, Kadyn Proctor).
When a the AD from the school you committed to, tells you that your scholly is safe no matter who they hire, then it isn't (in the 11th hour no less), that is complete and total bullshit. Fvck anyone who does that to a kid, especially 13 of them. Rooting for that program to crash and burn.
Especially with this provision in place:
"According to the Pac-12's new rules, all athletic scholarships will be guaranteed for four years and "can neither be reduced nor canceled provided the student-athlete remains in good standing and meets his/her terms of the agreement.""
