Sr. DB Charles Jackson. So many terrible injuries, it's easy to forgot he was penciled in as a starting nickel and leader of the secondary just a couple years ago. He's healthy (as he is) and played very well in the spring game. Good tackler. I'll be keeping an eye on him this fall camp. He could become one of the surprise players of the fall.
DE Sedrick King. With the clear emergence of Freedom Akinmoladun, DaiShon Neal's development, and @NUfanNOmaterwhat's enthusiastic and optimistic report on Alex Davis, I'm not all that sure DE is any weaker a position right now than DT. But Coach Banker recently remarked about how King was really progressing until he went down with an injury during spring camp. Like Jackson, King is almost the forgotten man. But don't underestimate The Parrella Effect and the difference his coaching is making in developing these guys along the defensive line.
WR Bryan Reimers. You would think by now we wouldn't be surprised by walk-ons coming out of nowhere, particularly at WR, to become a factor. Lane Hovey moved on to Montana and Reimers might just take his place. Reimers impressed coaches all spring making catches and just being productive.
DT Peyton Newell. I brought him up in some of the Film Room threads because he surprised with his play in the spring game. Here again we are only beginning to see the impact of The Parrella Effect on so many of these undeveloped players along the DL.
