So sad to see all these kids on X posting that they are still available. Sure, some of them made a bad choice when they went in (they are working with a brain that hasn't fully developed yet & I'm sure many are being given bad advice by agents and friends/family). But MANY were forced in by the roster limitations.

The powers that be better get this crap figured out before it ruins more kids' dreams and totally wrecks college football. I wish I was surprised that this has become such a cluster.

The last 4 years will go down as one of the stupidest times in history across the board.

Welcome to America. Where people should have the freedom to make choices and live with those choices. Everyone will be fine. It's not like they are going to the Gulag if they don't find a D1 team in the next 2 weeks.

I wonder if a verbal nil contract goes far? cause if they get it in writing before entering the portal, seems like it would be evidence of tampering...

Yeah, because manipulating young athletes with money and setting up a system that encourages disloyalty, lack of perseverance, and a "me first" attitude is just what we should be doing to these kids.

I should also add "corrupt" to this time in history.

One could argue the kids did it to themselves. I would have to see the numbers. NU had the biggest walk on program? At 60 walk-ons? Most were more like 30? But every team can or will add 20 legit scholarships? Cry me a river. Teams like East Tennesee State and Rhode Island are now looking for players. Everyone will be fine.

I'm sure much will be written someday about this particular period of the transfer portal, roster limits, and NIL. It'll be an interesting read to see a breakdown of where everyone ended up at.

I hope a lot of these players end up with a scholarship, somewhere, at the very least. For this year it doesn't seem like a safe move to enter the portal in hopes of attracting more NIL money. You'd better be in high demand & have some good stats to pull that off.
