If a true freshman can play and can make an impact, that is a recruiting selling point. Here's your chance to name your "guy" or "guys" as impact true freshmen (choose up to 2).

I along with many others picked Lamar Jackson, at the very least, a special teams killer and immediate 2nd stringer with the ability to move up quick.

Grimm is for real; coaches are saying DPE is back, will see how long it takes to return to form. There are likely two on O and D that should wiggle on in there.

Is DPE truly on the shelf? Haven't heard much about him.
I doubt that he'll be 100% by fall camp. IF he plays, I'll be shocked if he's returning punts to open the season. No inside info, just considering the seriousness of his injury. That wasn't your ordinary knee injury.

I would be surprised to see Lamar Jackson play meaningful snaps unless there is a need via injury. If he has the talent AND picks things up quickly. If all that came together well enough so a freshman's head doesn't explode then maybe. I didn't see our veteran guys picking up this D very quickly last year. With his size, he could be a monster safety but I know he wants to play corner.

I haven't heard or read if DPE will be back to open the season. I'm just kinda figuring that he'll be ready to play. With that in mind, I picked Lamar Jackson and Tre Bryant. I have no idea if either will play this year, fall camp hasn't even started. But, these are the two guys I will be watching for most closely.

Lamar Jackson. He brings the physical attributes to play right now. We are not deep at CB, less people to beat out. UCLA completed more than 60% of their passes, and we knew they would be passing the ball. I see opportunity here, especially if there's some ball hawking skills to go along with the package.

Tre Bryant. He is a recruit for this staff in an area that has been seen as lacking effectiveness. We are already looking at a "by committee" approach for this season, translated into english means opportunity is there.

My guess is DPE will be as ready as he's gonna be this fall. Hope I'm wrong but I'm not expecting him to be the same electrifying player he used to be. Hell of an injury and it'll take some time to get that confidence back in those legs. Grimm, Jackson, and Bryant are 3 I could see having an impact this fall. Raridon is gonna be a beast! Lots of talent making it's way to Lincoln these days. I think we have a bright future ahead of us!!!

Another poll from back in July. Tre Bryant and Lamar Jackson seemed to be the two true freshman that saw the most game time outside of special teams.

Here we are at the end of the season with Caleb Lightbourn as starting punter and Jojo Domann listed in the 3 deep, along with Bryant and Jackson.
