After their excruciating OT 1 point loss to Wisconsin, the team was forced to go 5-1 down the stretch to get back to .500.

Since that loss, they dominated Penn State and pulled off an improbable comeback to win by 1 point @ Ohio State.

They are left with the following schedule in their final 4 games.

@ MSU
vs. ILL
@ Minnesota
vs. Michigan

What record to you predict for the Huskers in these final four games?

Sorry to say but anyway you look at it the result will be another losing record with high hopes for the future. The problem is the future seems to be predictable based upon past performance. How long do we ride this train before we realize it's always going to be late to the station?

Michigan State is wounded, but they're also fighting to stay on the bubble. Minnesota has a ton of momentum. Michigan is likely in the tourney, but needs to finish strong.

Figure out how to beat Sparty, then we can discuss.

Miles has won more games this year than Riley did.

I think it's a 7 year rebuild, and 2 of the first 4 seasons should be tossed out IMO. Here's why:

Year one was a throw away. That team was possibly the least talented team in the Big Ten of the last decade. Doc Sadler left the cupboard empty.

Year two Miles makes the tourney.
Year 3 was a chemistry nightmare. The older guys were not team first and they really love reading their press clippings.

At the end of year two, Miles was finally able to recruit legit Big Ten players out of high school. Basketball recruiting is a different animal. The top 100 to 150 kids are identified at age 15. They have relationships built with coaches 2+ years before they ever arrive in college. They can also sign as Juniors. Miles had to prove he could actually win before kids would trust him. Hell a kid like Morrow was a legacy, but I don't believe he chooses Nebraska if Sadler is still here.

Year 4 comes around and Miles has to integrate some young guys with an incomplete lineup. There is no big guy and still not much depth.

Year 5 has arrived and there is finally a complete roster with a bunch of development on display. And now much of that youth is going to be together for another few years.

And they are actually still recruiting high level talent going forward.

This team is going to be 10 players deep next season with length, athleticism, and an experienced back court.

Going into year 8 you will look back on years 6 and 7 and see some tangible proof off predicting the future.

Sorry I didn't read regular season.
Poor Tuco. That Husker last minute win against Ohio State had to pain you. You probably were sitting at your computer with a whole post ready if they had lost, but then had to delete it after they won it. It's OK - you can save your doom and gloom outlook for when they lose the next one.

Not sure what you mean by "anyway you look at it the result will be another losing record" - if they finish 3-1 that actually puts them at .500 which isn't a losing record. If they win one game in the B1G tournament that guarantees at least a .500 record. So actually only if you predict 2-2 or worse does that result in another losing record.

I'll say 2-2. Even though Illinois is playing better, I think NU wins that one and one other.

Hope the game in Columbus was just a bump in the road for Tschimanga. It was his first clunker in quite a while, so hopefully he will bounce back Thursday.

Hell nah, team was VERY competitive but young. Many more of those close games go our way the next two years as the kids mature. How you can't see the potential of this team amazes me.
