You are right about that too. The police are on edge and targeted as well. Weird time we live.A month ago it was a deaf fella (white) shot down in his driveway, now this black fella. Seems if you do not stop & obey, you are going to get tased or shot. Cops are on edge, can't say I blame them as they are gunned down just for being a cop. We're living in a bad time right now, color matters not.
100 % agree. My guess is poor training and or inexperience.
Farming is more dangerous than police work.....I'm not sure its even in the top 10 of the most dangerous jobs in this country.
Damn hard job though...I wouldn't even do it for 100K. I salute them and any time I'm dealing with them I keep my hands in plain view and always make slow deliberate movements.
The ratio at the end of 2015 was 6 unarmed black people were shot by police for every unarmed white person shot by police.A month ago it was a deaf fella (white) shot down in his driveway, now this black fella. Based on compensation, the market attracts what it attracts. Poor decisions to use deadly force. I many if not nearly all of these cases, what would be the worst thing that could happen if they simply got in the vehicles and left the stopped driver? My guess is poor training and or inexperience.

Why am I not surprised.Heard Al Cant pay my taxes Sharpton is coming here.
You are very correct on your points. Just for weird humor. Energy Drinks 20 years ago were also not as advanced and easy to access. Red Bull was about it. It would be a interesting study how many victims consume large amounts of energy drinks and the Police consumption as well. Maybe even a policy limiting energy drinks on duty and observing the numbers of unauthorized use of force and weapon discharge. This kind of stuff did not happen 20 years ago. Criminals had weapons then too. So what has changed? 9-11 happened and regular people have allowed their freedoms to be given up in the name of security.
And now that it's become a big deal, there are all the lies being told. Missing dash cam footage, video finally being released by a judge of all people, and more and more corruption and lies.
So in conclusion, Police have been militarized, and everyone is to blame for letting it happen and get this bad. The cop is now allowed to be the judge, jury, and executioner, just because you did not follow his/her command. You all gave up your due process for security. Good luck getting your rights and freedoms back.

This is very good. Very true. Being anti police is not a plausible solution.

Could get bad here. People are mad here or just not saying anything. Heard he had pcp in his truck.. Not sure why he tried to get back in his truck then get into his pockets. Seems like everyday there is a shooting in Tulsa and I bet the police are on edge with other officers getting shot and killed
all good. I agree. Talking and community involvement helps.Well that's just a flat out lie. White people are killed by the police at a MUCH higher rate than any other race.
In my opinion there are two huge problems that fuel this. 1) the media only shows black males getting killed by white police officers, fueling fear and racial division. The United States is huge and sadly police are being put in these situations all across the nation everyday. The difference is that 20 years ago people didn't have cell phones where you coule record it and show it to millions of people around the world in real time. It is flat out irresponsible for the national media to continually force this narrative down our throats 24/7 because you are going to scare innocent black people when they get pulled over. Now they are thinking "is this cop going to hurt me?" It's a legitimate fear for an African American in this day and age because of what the media is constantly showing. Not to mention showing this to someone who is not fully there mentally can push an individual over the age to go out and cause harm to innocent police officers (I.e Dallas)
2.) Young people (regardless of race) are not taught how to interact with police officers when you do get stopped or pulled over. Maybe it's because of #1 and maybe it has to do with pop culture and this " F the cops" mentality pumped into people's minds. If you are an innocent person and do what the cops tell you to do, you will not be killed, point blank. When you resist arrest are fight officers they have a split second to react.even if you throw your arms around, if it looks like your reaching for something, police have less than a second to decide what to do. They have families too that they want to get back to. They are not there to coddle you. Their job is to serve and protect, not serve and die.
I know long message but the only way we can fight this is have meetings and classes wherr the community can come together and talk to the police. Let the community express their fears and let police teach the community how to interact with them. That's why I applaud DeMarcus Cousins. He has set up meetings in his hometown of Mobile Alabama to have these kind of talks.
Thats my feelings on the subject so I will now get off my soapbox!
I never have these problems with police...I really have loss all empathy to these things because the stupidity of not complying always seem to proceed the events.

fyi, here are stats of police shootings by race in 2015 and 2016 per google.
2015-- 50% white; 26% black; 24% hispanic
2016 to date-- 54% white; 28% black; 18% hispanic
So look up the per cent of crimes committed by race; its stunning. I haven't look it up in about 15 years; but its so sad. Huge % committed by smaller portions of the population. IMO its socio-economic.Blacks do not make up 26% of the US population. (Although who knows what the #'s are of the % of races that the police deal with on a day to day basis.)
I agree. When there is a issue justice is hopefully served.Cops aren't perfect and aren't always right. There's a Bay Area Rapid Transit officer who shot an unarmed man on the ground. He was charged.
The cop in Charleston SC who shot the male running away from him. He was charged.
An Atlanta officer was charged with Murder in July for shooting an unarmed man.
I could go on, but people who claim officers get away with doing this aren't paying attention.
This was kinda where I thought energy drinks came into play. If he drank 3 cherry AMP's right before. Maybe he frieked out. His driving looked like excessive energy drinks.Did you even watch the video? He had his hands above his head/on the car (which the windows were up and door was closed). His hands only go down when he gets tazed lol. Don't believe the official police propaganda story that's easily disproved watching the video.
I think two things are generally in play, in combination sometimes:I took your advice & asked myself your question. From what I've seen, no way in hell that man warranted death. I am pro law & order, but this is terrible for all.
I think two things are generally in play, in combination sometimes:
1. People who are not temperamentally suited to be in law enforcement (panic prone, poor decision making/impulse control, anger issues) and
2. Poor and inappropriate training (where do we ever see an attempt to de-escalate in these stories).
Not really sure how and when things change. Seems much of this may a systems issue. That requires a change in management and training.
I am very intrigued to see how this ends up. We don't have all the facts yet, but I wouldn't want to be the officer who fired.
I don't know what led up to all this, but I'm going to assume that it is possible if not likely, that the male who was shot didn't follow verbal directions given by officers. It is likely the male was told not to walk away/towards his vehicle, just because, I don't know an officer who would want him to do so. Again this is assuming based on my experiences, and I don't know it to be true.
Speaking generally I see IMO the lack of compliance by people when given verbal directions by officers is a problem. When you don't do what an officer asks/tells you to do, you in essence escalate the situation. You may know that you intend no harm in doing something, but the officer does not know what your intentions are. Bad things can happen when you willingly add stress to a potentially stressful situation. Shocking, but I've never had a problem with anyone who was complaint with what I asked them to do.
IMO, all this negative police narrative is only encouraging people to be non-compliant, and that is dangerous. Again, I'm speaking generally, and not about the Oklahoma case, as there is more information that needs to come out.
If you've never seen the below clip, what this activist says about not realizing how important compliance is, shows how things can get out of hand quickly. Believe me, no officer wants to be put in that position of having to make that split second decision.
The ratio at the end of 2015 was 6 unarmed black people were shot by police for every unarmed white person shot by police.
This. In all my years, I have never once touched my gun with a compliant person. Hundreds (thousands?) of traffic stops and never had to draw down on a compliant person. Black, white, Mexican, Indian....Is that a coincidence? I think not. In fact, I once got drew down on by border patrol because I slept right next to the Rio Grande in the back of my truck. My hand went up and I didn't do anything until I was told to do it. I actually had a real gun within reach but made sure I had my hands visible and did exactly what I was told. Dudes getting shot are often high or just don't like doing what they are told. Often times they don't like doing what they are told because they are looking to grab their gun to do harm to the cop. #fact
