Conspiracy Friday 
The TIMING and the firing of Shawn Eichorst has always perplexed me.
By doing it 3 games in, you have effectively sacrificed the season, made it a much more difficult environment for the team to succeed and to recruit and because of that, have effectively come to the decision 3 games in that Riley is not the guy - bc thats what firing SE effectively does.
It just strike me as very knee jerk for Administrators like Bounds/Green that they would have decided by game 3 that Riley was not their guy considering they knew what he inherited, that he was installing new schemes on both sides of the ball, and supposedly liked him and would want to see him succeed.
Its hard for me to reconcile all that - it doesn't appear to make logical sense. But there is one crazy theory that would explain it all.
What if Eichorst and Devaney were pushing key decisions on Riley:
1. You can't recruit Juco's
2. You must call Banker on phone fire him (out of character), and hire Diaco and switch to 3-4
3. The 3 extra LOIs that BIG allows must go to Jody Lewis, Greg Johnson, etc..thereby eliminating the offering of reasonable backup plans.
4. Don't need a quarterback this class
5. etc...
We know Bounds likes Riley and wants him to succeed. What if Bounds saw Eichorst and Devaney pushing these key decisions on Riley, not allowing him to build team the way he wanted. And is it possible that the last straw was Eichorst press conference after NIU game where Eichorst threw team and Riley under the bus.
This crazy theory would explain a number of things:
1. The unusual timing of the firing
2. The reports that plans to fire Eichorst were in place before NIU loss
2. Why Bounds is now meeting w/ recruits w/ Riley at Bounds house
3. Why Nate is reporting that JUCO offers might start going out
4. Why we started offering QBs again
5. Why some insiders on this board have stated a number of times in the past the Riley wasnt really running the show and it wasnt what he signed up for.
6. Why some insiders have said that all recruiting runs thru Devaney
Please, by all mean, poke holes in my admittedly crazy theory. Have at it. Have I become one of those crazy conspiracy theorists that I've always laughed at? What am i missing?
