Was out to dinner last night in Lincoln after the game. Made a reference to the game to our waitress. She shook her head and said, "I'm friends with a number of the players on the team and they don't trust the coaching staff yet." Said, "they were made promises by Pelini and now not sure about the new staff."
Those comments don't excuse for a second the ridiculous play calling and the clock management exhibited by Riley and Co. but I do think he is going to need to get his own recruits in there before this truly becomes his team.
There are likely some chemistry/lockerroom issues that are going to take some time to work themselves out before this gets any better.
