Play by play voice

Has there been a replacement named for Greg Sharpe? Jessica Cody is doing the call today
Cudy needs to hit the road. She's like Paul in the Bible. Takes a paragraph or to say what could have taken a sentence and talks in circles

Her GameDay thing she does in nw corner of the field is unnecessary and her voice is piercing

So we get that you don’t like anything about Jessica the broadcaster. She and Handley are ok on Sports Nightly lately.
I Look for Lane Grindle to do Play X Play.

You would be correct. I unfortunately quit listening to sports nightly. Couldn't stand the rambling. Used to religiously listen whenever I could

First thing Jessica a is eye candy look at most sport networks that have women that are the same as she is, and nothing against women in sports broadcasting, I’d love for lane grindle to do the play by play but he’s has a pretty good gig with the brewers just hope whoever they pick is no Jim rose or Warren swain

I think Handley could grow in to the Husker football radio gig. He does a good job with baseball and is easier to listen to than Grindle IMO.

Here's a complete left field suggestion. What about rick allen? He used to be pa announcer in the stadium and moved on. NASCAR announcer for NBC for years until 2024.

That’s different jobs / responsibilities and preparation IMO.

You mean between pa announcer and broadcaster? I totally agree. I'm just saying that's how he started his career. Knows Nebraska. Currently unemployed i believe

Yeah he's been struggling to keep up with the action for a few years at least. His sloganeering hasn't gotten better with age, either.
I love Pavelka but it’s time for new blood. If they were going to hire a temp, give Handley a resume builder but make it clear the job is still up for grabs. This is one job I don’t want another outsider working.

k-state has an outstanding one in the wings waiting for the current dude to retire, brian smoller. would not surprise either way.

I am sure Kevin Kugler is no longer in the budget
Especially since joining b1g and every game on tv. I don't think the radio gig is going to be a high paying affair. They'll have to do baseball as well in order to make a living. So the easy decision for them would be to leave baseball as is and add fb to his job description.

And as mentioned above make first contract annual and go from there

I agree 100%. But I also have no problem giving it to Pavelka for 1 year if you can’t find someone you love before the fall. I’d hate to see them hire another dud on a somewhat short notice.

What is wrong with you? Nobody here wants to know about KSU’s announcers.
what? your last one came from k-state (as did the chiefs and royals).

I know that and I wasn’t all that wild about the job he did. Great guy. There was just something about his delivery I didn’t like.
I'm with you on this. He just didn't make plays sound "exciting". His interviews and analysis were ok but something lacked on the play by play.
