As I have aged, I really have become a fan of their music and lyrics. Headed to a Black Jacket Symphony cover of Dark Side of the Moon in a few weeks. Hope its worth the time and money.
You need an OT for Pink Floyd? How dare you don’t put the OT before the topic!!!!!!!!!!!
June huh. My wife and I are driving to Utah in late June. Maybe we catch the show on the way out or back. One of my all-time faves....going to catch Brit Floyd at Red Rocks in June, can't believe I've never seen them yet.
Maybe. But I think Rush can sound like several other bands if you're not a polished fan of Rush. The Dark Side of the Moon is a masterpiece and monument for prog rock.
That said, their discography is pretty bloated, especially past the 80's.
I actually think Rush is overall the better band in terms of influence.
Great band. Do an incredible job recreating a Pink Floyd concert. One of my all-time faves....going to catch Brit Floyd at Red Rocks in June, can't believe I've never seen them yet.
Yes, there's a video on YouTube that links the album to the movie. Some of the connections seem to align but others you really have to stretch to see the link. This spawned from a text I got from a friend linking Dark Side to the Wizard of Oz. Seems to be a reach but i'm not stoned so maybe there's something there that I'm not picking up.
He sure does..How dare you don’t put the OT before the topic!!!!!!!!!!!
I must have missed that "written rule."He sure does..
Everyone knows the rules if it isn’t sports related even if its the obvious..
🫵🏼How about simple common sense..I must have missed that "written rule."
Please cite and I will dually note!
I think the actual date is Jun 5 .... bonus night in Colorado Springs, June 6 - maybe I'll make it a doubleheaderJune huh. My wife and I are driving to Utah in late June. Maybe we catch the show on the way out or back.
common sense doesn't tell you that Pink Floyd is an OT? You have to be told that? Yikes.🫵🏼How about simple common sense..
Dang. That doesn't aline with my. But I have some free time maybe Ill just drive out and see it myself. I love solo road trips.I think the actual date is Jun 5 .... bonus night in Colorado Springs, June 6 - maybe I'll make it a doubleheader

Does common curiosity mean anything to you ? or you just want to be stubborn at your age.Again where is it written? I asked, you said it's common sense. Here's news to you. Your opinion isn't fact or law. It's just your opinion.
You and Kong wake up on the wrong side of the bed this morning?
I bet you won't be disappointed....I'd listen to almost anything at Red Rocks.Dang. That doesn't aline with my. But I have some free time maybe Ill just drive out and see it myself. I love solo road trips.
Dark Side of the Moon and Wish You Were Here are my favorite Pink Floyd records. They would be in my Top 10 of all time. I like most of The Wall (Comfortably Numb is favorite song by them period) but yeah the album as a whole is kinda bloated. I do like some of the Syd Barrett era and post Waters but DSOTM and WYWH are the best imoThe Dark Side of the Moon is a masterpiece and monument for prog rock.

Australian Pink Floyd coming to Omaha in AprilI bet you won't be disappointed....I'd listen to almost anything at Red Rocks.

Have you listened to Division Bell? It has some good stuff.Dark Side of the Moon and Wish You Were Here are my favorite Pink Floyd records. They would be in my Top 10 of all time. LOL what does curiosity have to do with OT or no OT? your reaching again. And yes I can be stubborn at my age, particularly with stupid takes.Does common curiosity mean anything to you ? or you just want to be stubborn at your age.
Australian Pink Floyd? Interesting.Australian Pink Floyd coming to Omaha in April
I listened to Animals pretty much non-stop for almost a year. It was my daily dose. That was a rough year.Have you listened to Division Bell? It has some good stuff.
To be honest I haven’t but I’ll get around to it lolHave you listened to Division Bell? It has some good stuff.
I stumbled across this beauty a few years ago. Slow but the slide guitar (or whatever you call it) is worth the wait in the end. Song about aging. To be honest I haven’t but I’ll get around to it lol
I’d really like to check it out and Gilmour’s On an Island. There are albums by them I don’t think I’ve listened to which is crazy since as a guitarist myself I think David Gilmour is such a tasteful player! He has fantastic tone and phrasing.
took me a bit to get into that album but it's got some character, that's for sure.I listened to Animals pretty much non-stop for almost a year. It was my daily dose. That was a rough year.
LOL. Soooooo are you implying that I may be "overly happy and full of joy? "I know you would love this timeless classic. It's a revival baby!!
Dude!? In no universe is Rush more influential than Pink f’n Floyd. The Floyd pioneered the concept album, sold 50 million copies of The Dark Side of the Moon (alone), and turned syncing it with The Wizard of Oz into a cultural phenomenon. Their Prism logo? It’s on T-shirts at every crappy mall kiosk in the world.I actually think Rush is overall the better band in terms of influence.
Simmer down. Music is subjective and people have different tastes. It’s okay.Dude!? In no universe is Rush more influential than Pink f’n Floyd. Rush is awesome—they’ve sold over 40 million albums (total) and are probably more technically proficient—but it’s not even close. Floyd defined rock as art, transcended music, and became a global icon.
Shine on, you crazy diamond.
Both are top drawer. But if you give me one, Ima go Floyd.Simmer down. Music is subjective and people have different tastes. It’s okay.
