Interesting tidbit:
Pro Football Focus released their rankings putting Adrian Martinez at 129 out of 130 QBs. Yes, second worst QB in all of FBS.
Part of their justification is the following:
“When in a clean pocket, which is one of the most stable metrics for a quarterback, Martinez produced a 55.3 passing grade, ranking 123rd of 130 FBS quarterbacks. His big-time throw rate was 130th among the same group.”
Hail Varsity’s Derek Petersen responded well as to why the rankings seem a bit flawed, and I would agree with his response.
But damn- 129 out of 130?
I’ve been a harsh critic myself, but also remain optimistic about his potential.
I know the topic gets repeated over and over, but so do plenty of others. I thought this was interesting new info.
