I think Iowa is a top five team in the conference. However, our conference schedule is incredibly tough compared to last year and others. So it may not reflect to a top five finish. However, every time I say that Rick Heller surprises me.

High expectations for Erstad's 5th year
Certainly higher than a sixth place conference finish. Our second half collapse last season needs to be addressed and fixed. It's all about the bats this year. Do we have any?

I think that's dependent on the development of some of our younger guys. Guys like Alvarado, Dilday, and Schreiber need to produce. All three appear to be talented enough to produce good numbers.

A couple newcomers looked good in the fall, such as Brady Childs the JUCO Catcher and Freshman Matt Waldron. I was also very impressed with Jake Meyers as well and think he will be a full time position player going forward.
