Economic impact is way overblown. The industries that don’t want to evolve are the ones that are suffering. This might be the best thing that could have happened to the economy as it knocks out the weak links. Huge opportunities out there, but Americans for the most part just want to do their 8 and the gate and get paid. Check brain and creativity at the door, you owe me my paycheck. Trump is the biggest socialist out there by propping up dying industries (coal), stunting the need for creativity and competition (tariffs) and stifling the need for working hard (restricting immigration) so overall America can go on cruise control... it is genius, really as it gets him votes and continues to weaken the country for his buddy Vlad...
not really, the biggest losers are small service businesses, restaurants, bars and travel industry. Not sure any of those industries are resistant to evolve. Hell one might say that the micro brewery business is pretty damn evolutionary, but when you are forced to close, it doesn't matter a whole lot.
I've been busy all day. Calm down.

In these debates, people are overlooking the economic impact. It has been mentioned but needs close inspection.
Lincoln will lose millions of dollars. Even with limited attendance, bars and restaurants and hotels would have been busy, as well as travel.
In the past year, Omaha will have lost the following:
-NCAA tournament
-US Olympic swim trials
-NCAA CWS
-NCAA Vball final four
-Money related to football (bars, restaurants, airport, hotels, travel...)
-It doesn’t make much sense to cancel sports but keep schools open considering players would be safer in team environment. This is unanimously agreed upon. Presidents have to know this.
-Liability is debated...but, couldnt schools be sued if covid spreads on campus? Teams can still lift and have practice..isnt this also the same thing? And we all know its impossible to prove where one caught a virus.
-We dont even need to begin on the debate regarding whether or not this virus is as bad as the media is making it seem, we’ll go in circles.
Anyway, when you factor in the above economic impact and all who will be affected by it (business owners, workers, tenants, landlords, banks, on and on) it could be said that NU has an obligation to seek all alternatives to try to play this fall, even if it means leaving the B1G.
Im not saying NU would be welcomed by another conference or teams, but in my opinion they damned well better try.
We are in for a world of hurt, and its much more than simply not being able to watch football.
More kids are dying from lockdown and staying home that will die from Covid.
It's not even close.
It's a lose lose.
That's why you blame China.
totally agree as well as increased depression,In these debates, people are overlooking the economic impact. It has been mentioned but needs close inspection.

Kind of exposes the danger of basing an economy on service and banking, doesn't it.The left has used this virus to destroy tourism and hospitality. Hawaii has been shut down since March and thats their whole economy...they're basically a welfare state
Again, depends on which doctors reports you want to read. For every Fauci there is a Scott Atlas.
you mean for every infectious disease world expert who has spent his career on pandemics there is a radiologist with a best selling medical text entitled MRI Imaging of the Brain and Spinal Cord and who is so influential at his base university that they decided to go 100% online last week
that’s like enlisting a general internist to perform your cardiac surgery
Bingo. The guy is anti-enviroment and pro big government. He has no problem spending money as long as the corporations get their tax cuts, which it turns out they used mostly on stock buy backs, not hiring people. But it did prop up the stock market which leads to better campaigning.Economic impact is way overblown. The industries that don’t want to evolve are the ones that are suffering. I'm not sure about this. For the last couple of years I've always tried out new beers. When corona hit I made a concerted effort to support local micro brews. Even stopping and buying some growlers when I normally wouldn't have. I know people who stopped drinking big name beers and went local. I think a lot of micro brews might have got a lot more exposure in the end. I had never bought a growler before all this corona.not really, the biggest losers are small service businesses, restaurants, bars and travel industry. I can only speak for my area of Texas. Breweries are closed, so only the breweries that are able to distribute their product in the grocery stores and liquor stores are making any money. Some of the locals that have agreements with some Of the restaurants are still able to sell a keg or 2 To that restaurant, but it’s a drop in the bucket compared to their typical weekend when the patios are fullI'm not sure about this.
