Pelini communicated with Ruud after his first firing...if he still communicates with players that might be part of the poor chemistry. However, Nebraska problems go beyond poor chemistry, poor game management and ridiculous defensive scheme.
I heard he was the shooter on the grassy knoll and yelled "fire" in a theatre once. Everything is his fault and has nothing to do with the average guy RiLLLey.Is Pelini to the one making the calls in the games, clock management and using our secondary defense too?
Just like for 7 years when it was Callahans faultI heard he was the shooter on the grassy knoll and yelled "fire" in a theatre once. Everything is his fault and has nothing to do with the average guy RiLLLey.
The Pelini talk just needs to stop.
Ignorant if you think it's Bo. The players wanted Bo to stay knuckleheads. No it doesn't.
A large portion is on Bo, and it'll be like that theough 2016. Not all players, not even close.Ignorant if you think it's Bo. The players wanted Bo to stay knuckleheads.
Yes it does.

Because there's enough issues with this team and the future. We have talent to beat Illinois. Pelini would have, no doubt. And have you seen Riley's recruiting class so far? Good for about 12th in the B1G at this point. Why does the Bo talk need to stop? Callahan talk continued 3 or 4 years plus after he was fired. The players Bo recruited are still here, holes in the depth chart are still here from Bo's recruiting, there is certainly part of his culture instilled in some players that are here, etc. Not to say that Riley and Co. Doesn't shoulder some of the blame for stuff going on, but Bo's fingerprints are still definitely all over this program.
What's really going to suck is when most get to a point when they say, 'We would be better if Bo was here.' That's how bad it's going to get. Thanks Eichorst. Pelini beat the teams he should have. It was the teams with a pulse that got him fired. Is that a fact? Let's see how many guys get drafted from each squad this coming NFL draft. Fact is the talent level at Nebraska right now is a joke. Nothing against the players, but a vast majority of them had no business ever suiting up here and that's on 408.
Dead on!!! There's is little to no talent. People don't get what it takes to play in the league. Neb just doesn't produce talent. Aka, recruit talent. Parity is alive and well and not going anywhere fast.Is that a fact? Let's see how many guys get drafted from each squad this coming NFL draft. Name one guy on the field for Illinois that will be drafted in the next 4 years not named wes lunt or geronimo allison ( and they will be late rounders) as for nebraska...collins, valentine, dpe, morgan, westy and gerry might be late rounders, freedom could develop into nfl talent...not sure who you got from illinois

Did you just blame that loss on Pelini because Tommy doesn't follow orders? Was it Bo's fault that Carter lined up wrong? Was it his fault our motion guy went at the wrong time? Was it his fault the frosh said he thought it was a pass play? This Bo stuff is getting ridiculous.Yeah, but a good portion of those issues stem from Pelini. Fair game IMO. There is still a toxic culture that comes from the prior regime and a perfect example is Tommy not following what he was told to do. Discipline is gigantic when it comes to football and if you still have guys that long for the prior regime, then you don't have everybody bought into what you are doing and it doesn't matter what plays are called, they won't be executed correctly. That stuff doesn't happen overnight and sure as hell doesn't happen 5 games into a season. Will it happen with this staff? Nobody knows.
Pelini psychologically damaged every single player on the team with his sociopathic message. It is undeniable that there is a leftover fungus on the team that does not lend to a team playing up to its potential. The hope is that we can win enough over the next couple years that Riley will be able to recruit quality players. If we don't win at least 7 or 8, it will be tough to talk really good players into coming.

Should have beaten a 7-5 Wisconsin team. We were the ones without a pulse that day and many others under him.Pelini beat the teams he should have. It was the teams with a pulse that got him fired.
Did Pelini "psychologically damage" MR and Langsdorf into not calling a fullback dive on 3rd and 7 or a qb sneak? Or call 31 passes in a gale?
Did he Jedi Mind trick Banker into not calling the right defense for a Hail Mary by BYU?
Did Pelini talk MR into not getting Juco's to fill in the holes?
Seriously?

Good grief. As already said here. Pelini lost plenty of games he should have won. Revisionist history at its finest.Pelini beat the teams he should have. It was the teams with a pulse that got him fired.
Where is the discussion of what happened with Riley in the past? He and Langsdorf have had constant brainfarts on game management in the past. He was consistently ridiculed for being too cute with his play calling. Plenty of people talked about his lack of discipline with his team from penalties to stupid plays. These were known issues that this board refused to acknowledge last winter and people want to sweep under the rug now. Nothing that happened yesterday was a surprise to Oregon State fans who have seen this act before. No, I blame poor execution on the fact of these guys have had years of poor disclipline and theven fact that players are this way is a carryover from the prior regime. There are coaching issues with this staff that needs to get ironed out. Yes, the play calling was suspect, but like I said, if players haven't bought in you are going to see that. I'm sorry that it is just too easy for guys like you to just blame the current staff when things go bad, but there are many factors of why we haven't played well and Pelini is a part of that. The fact that people lie you continue to want to completely absolve the former staff is the thing that is ridiculous.
This is an unbelievable cop out. Is there a negative feeling carried over from last year? Sure, that's going to happen when you fire any coach that just won 9 games. But when your current coaches' decisions and game mismanagement are the reason for 2 of the 3 losses, the current staff isn't showing that they deserve to be followed or respected. No, I blame poor execution on the fact of these guys have had years of poor disclipline and theven fact that players are this way is a carryover from the prior regime. Let me ask you this, if you're a Nebraska player and your coach just got fired after you had an average season and they hire a guy that just went 5-7, what is it going to take for him to gain your respect? Because he's won in the past? Nope. Because someone told you to respect him? Nope. He has to earn it and so far, he hasn't earned it.
