Ironically, the conferences are essentially acting in order of academic prestige.

The Ivy League and its lack of income from athletics with the cancelation, then the B1G, followed by Pac-12, then the ACC...the SEC has Vandy and Florida so they're likely to follow after the ACC, and then the Big XII with Baylor as its lone elite academic institution will begrudgingly follow the trend.
