His block was the play of the game. IMO best complete RB we've had in years. He's such a strong runner. So nice to see a back with solid speed get yards after contact. Gotta say, I thought he was a terrible offer out of HS. Yep eating crow. Starting to eat a lot of it lately and I could not be happier. It's now my favorite meal.

He should be IB1, period. Really helped settle the offense and get tough yards. Real launching point for him today as a Husker.

22 is a man. He may not be an all American but he showed a lot of guts today.

He's a feature back. I love Rex. I love AA. I love Helu. Not taking away from anything from those guys. BUt so far, I'm taking Ziggy over all of them. I don't see anything wrong with him.

Ozigbo was a great find by Riley and Co. Ozigbo is an absolute load to bring down. He is always dragging guys for extra yards. Newby has been very good as well. Those guys make a great 1-2 punch.
Pretty sure Coach Warren identified Ozigbo. Antonio Reed as well I think. Stewart is doing fine but Warren was sure key in the transition.

Disagree completely. Newby has been outstanding this season, I've gone back and watched tape on both games this year, Newby is our most complete back.

He might be, but when Nebraska has to run right at someone and wear then down, I want DO22 in there.

Newby was running the ball well and I thought was giving us an extra shake in there. That play where he burst through the hole, made a couple of cuts and ran a guy over set the tone. If he could have finished the game I think he would have made a difference. I also noticed they threw to DO today which were normally kept for TN in the past. Don't recall DO being involved in the screen game.

I like Newby and Ozigbo as a 1-2 team. Ozigbo was a man at the end of the game today.

Oz needs to be the feature back and Newby needs to get some snaps off the bench, but Oz needs at least 75 percent of the snaps. While Newby is playing better this year, Oz sees things so fast. That is what really sets him apart from other backs. You can teach backs where to look, but you can't teach them how to see, react, and hit the crease before it's gone. He is excellent at it. Add in the block he threw today.

i was shocked he had only 3 carries in the 1h. Glad that was remedied.

Perhaps so, but Newby has stepped up his game this year.

Newby has kicked butt this year, including yesterday. It wasn't fortunate at all that he went out because its doubtful he would have let that crap backward pass by TA bounce off his hands and get returned 50 yds the other way. 10-14 point swing right there.

I like Newby-Ozigbo as a 1-2. Let Newby get majority snaps early and then bring in fresh legs Ozigbo to pound a worn down defense.

I know it's a lot easier seeing holes watching the game in a recliner on a big screen, but on one of the first runs, it looked like newby ran into the back of the blocker, when he could have bounced outside and found open room. field vision is a good quality

T Newby got a little dinged in the first half I thought.

I like Ozigbo and think he's going to be our primary ball carrier for the next three years, but I do think that with Lee under center the next two seasons it's going to important to give a lot of carries to a big play threat. Ozigbo will be able to get some 20 and 30 yard gains but I doubt he'll ever gain 60 yards on a carry. Without a big play threat at QB we will need someone who can make those runs from time to time.

I believe Ozigbo is the featured back. He had 21 carries to Newby's 7.

Newby did have a good game with 6 ypc.

Next year will be DO22, followed by....?

Hoping Tre Bryant's fumbles were not a sign of his ball security capabilities.

Newby looked as good as he ever has on Saturday. Shame he got hurt. Gonna need him for the Big Ten grind.

Some of our best backs were fumblers: Roger Craig, Ahman Green, Ameer. But you are 100% correct, in this offense I don't think we can trade ball security for big play ability.

Devine Ozigbo looks good, but I think Tre Bryant will surpass him. Bryant didn't get many carries in the Oregon game, but I loved his attitude against Wyoming. It didn't look like he wanted to go down even if he had multiple defenders trying to wrap him up.

Remember this... Riley will probably run a Pro style two back set after Tommy leaves. Ozigbo and Bryant will probably play together for years to come. IMAGINE THAT!!!

Well it will be one future pro sharing time with another. Tre plays a little raw yet; I am happy with how the coaches are bringing him along. What a group; Newby has upped his game. Devine slips and caries people with him as a habit; he is so hard to bring down - that the olinemen often come crashing back into the moving pile and we surge for a few more yards.

I've been harsh on Newby in the past, but I did not wanna see him come out of that game. Especially after Tre Bryant has had some fumbles in his limited touches. I love his potential, but 1) He needs to work on his ball security and 2) He can't possibly know all the offense yet.

Not only has Newby looked much improved as a runner, I was worried Ozigbo was gonna be gassed by the end of the game when they'd need him on a crucial drive.

Newby was able to return, and D.O. was there with bigtime runs and blocks when they needed him.

I was just going to ask, we still have Ozigbo for the next two years after this year, plus Bryant for three. We still have Wilbon for 2 years, and Taylor back there somewhere for 2017. Do you guys think we even bother to recruit a RB in this years cycle (2017)?

Hope so with how we've seen injuries and transfers evaporate RB depth in the past.

Always - if you aren't in a normal or tough spot; you take your shot at selling one " Golden 5 Star " : or you may find the undiscovered Nugget that has all the right moves to be built into a feature back. GBR
