1992 Colorado at Nebraska. A VERY cathartic game. ... Happy Halloween, McCartney, ya scumbag. ... It was interesting to watch that yesterday, knowing what was to come for those kids like Dwayne Harris and Donta Jones on special teams and Schlesinger scoring the game's final TD ...
That 1984 OU game was truly a wasted opportunity.
More people forget this game costing TO and Nebraska another National championship than another other game for the exception of the 1966 Orange Bowl which Alabama was clearly the better team not so of the 1984 Nebraska Oklahoma game..
That damn Sooner Magic! That and taking Sundberg out and putting Travis Tritt (Turner) in the game did not bring the expected spark Osborne had wanted, he should have stayed with his starter the whole game.

Should have optioned the ball but we didn’t have a good enough option QB at the time..
People always talk about TO could have won 3 in a row 81-83. Could have been 4. That game game BYU the absolute lamest MNC in history.

373 yards for NU compared to 201 for OU, Nebraska's D was great for about 55 minutes of the game, the Offense had one more critical turnover than OU. Another problem was taking the "hot" player out of the game and inserting Jeff Smith back in at the wrong times, momentum killer.
OU had a ton of great talent, and the next year they put it all together.
Washington was the reason why BYU won it and Florida was on probation..
After beating Nebraska, OU couldn’t avoid the Sooner schooner falling in the Orange Bowl..
