Sure!Is he a viable candidate for the full time position? I know he runs a charity with a massive budget.
Why bring in an outside for the interim? Seems like you could just have an associate AD take the role until a new AD is hired. Marc Boehm or even better Chris Brasfield.[/QUOTE
Marc Boehm, the poster child for Husker Basketball the last bazillion years? Come on

I liked everything but the last paragraph. I don't really prefer a "take my ball and go home if I don't get my way" kind of "leader".Mark Boehm should have been fired long before Eichorst. How he still has a job here is one of the great mysteries of our time. I'd rather Dennis LeBlanc, as academics are the only thing that has been consistently good in our athletic department the last 20 years.
But if you're going to go outside with an interim, why not someone like Meyers who actually has administrative experience here?

Wrong, he actually works in your federal government. We could get Graham Spanier to make another recommendation. Bill Bryne worked out pretty well and since Graham is at home under house arrest, he has time to work the phones.
Osborne as AD is a large part of why we are in this extended mess.If we truly need an interim AD, then shouldn't we ask Osborne to do it? He's had the job and he's local. The only logical explanation I see to this is that Rimington is being considered permanently. How is it that playing for Nebraska is the number one qualification. Would any other school be bringing in this guy to run their Athletic Dept (in the interim or permanent basis) because of his mad CEO skills?

Totally disagree. Football is the cash cow and if our players even know a little history then they will respect Rimington. The guy also shows that he understands the big picture. We don't need an interim running the day to day operations. We need one who is steady, who understands football, who has the pulse of Husker nation. Most importantly we need someone who knows how to talk to donors. It is a tenuous time with those money guys. Rimington can speak their language in a lot of ways.Interim. The mess is made. We're talking about running day to day operations. The interim isn't hiring. My point is that we had someone perfectly capable and qualified of being the interim on our doorstep and we are (apparently) bringing in Rimington. This sounds like he is being considered more than interim.
I hate the idea they are even consulting TO. He was a decent (not great coach) in a week conference and people made him into a god. This entire mess is his fault.Osborne as AD is a large part of why we are in this extended mess.

BS. He was one of the greatest college football coaches to ever live, the best IMO. For any cfb fan, let lone a Nebraska fan, to say otherwise is ridiculous.I hate the idea they are even consulting TO. Will never believe a word you say, ever again. Complete idiocy.I hate the idea they are even consulting TO. He was a decent (not great coach) in a week conference and people made him into a god. This entire mess is his fault.
I was guessing that he might have been being sarcastic?BS. He was one of the greatest college football coaches to ever live, the best IMO. For any cfb fan, let lone a Nebraska fan, to say otherwise is ridiculous.

If that was sarcasm, that was a WEEK attempt...I was guessing that he might have been being sarcastic?
Interesting. However, he has some serious health issues right now.Serious question....would Joe Moglia be a stretch for AD?

I didn't realize he was 70. I knew he has been battling health issues, but remember reading they were not serious in nature, just needed addressed. While a good mention, he is on medical leave from coaching and will be pushing 70 by next football season so not sure

Basic succession planning. Must not be very good at NUWhy bring in an outside for the interim? Seems like you could just have an associate AD take the role until a new AD is hired. Marc Boehm or even better Chris Brasfield.
I agree. Rimington will be the man for the long haul I believe if he accepts the interim role.Agree. You don't bring in Remington only to shove him aside later. And you don't bring in rimington full time to hire les miles or chip Kelly.
Probably a bit early but welcome home Scott
