Very interesting article. Many things to take away but 2 things jump out to me.

#1 is Hackenberg's ESPN QB rating of 35.7. For all of the love that Franklin gets by the media (and many RSSers have puked on that) you got to believe that Hackenberg has to rue the day O'Brien left for the NFL.

Even with the new coach and a green O-line, Hackenberg should've at least maintained status quo with his freshman year (when the O-line was also swiss cheese). And he went backwards in a major way.

You have to believe in his heart Hackenberg would rather be some place else.

#2 is the quality of offensive coaching / QB coaching each of the 5 QB's Sam names by their respective staffs. I realize that MR/DL are new and in their honeymoon period. But if I had to choose which staff I would want to provide the offensive / QB coaching expertise, MR/DL are the run away winners.

I believe the quality of coaching will have a huge impact on which QB emerges / which team wins the west.

I think Hackenberg would agree with that.

We shall see.

GBR
