Wow....Ventura's finest performance was probably game 6 of the 2014 World Series - where he had scribbled the initials of Oscar Taveres of the Cardinals on his cap, after Taveras had died in a car accident in the DR a day earlier.

My 12yo son just spent the first 20 minutes of church crying his eyes out bc he saw it on instagram. We saw him pitch game 2 of the '14 series, definitely one of his best games. Waiting to hear the details, hoping its not achohol related but if it is there will be a teachable moment with my sons.

I'll never forget game 6. Just an amazing performance. Just felt like this could have been the year he put it all together finally. This just sucks so bad.

Such a sad day for the Royals and all of KC. I loved watching YV compete. Sometimes he allowed his emotions to get a little carried away, but he was such a competitor. He truly shined in the 2014 World Series, and he has been a key component to making the Royals competitive over the past 3 seasons. Since Spring Training hasn't started yet it's hard to know what the rotation will look like this year, but I would assume like the past 3 seasons he would have been 1 or 2 in the rotation so it's going to be sad watching Opening Day knowing one of your best is not on the mound.

It's simply a baseball term, nothing more. Scouts say the same about alot of players. Just means they have not learned how to "pitch" and take advantage of their God given arm talent.
Take a deep breath. It sucks and is terrible.
