Noem pooped the bed a second time in as many months. Her national aspirations are toast.
how exactly did she "poop the bed"? The only ones blasting her are the MSM socialists. She's been attacked ever since she spoke at the Rep national convention. They want her marginalized ASAP.

The future is now cold, flu, and covid season. We better get used to it.
Let's have some fun with social math
* the government can force me to buy car, health and soon many other types of insurance
*the government can make me give up my firearms
*the government can inject chemicals into me against my will
*the government tells me to fear my fellow citizen (for medical and other reasons) while importing millions of non-english-speaking people from authoritarian countries whose medical history is completely unknown, and then refusing to track them, but willing to track me down to my latest grocery purchase
*the government empowers a woman to kill my unborn child because it's her body, her choice. But if I use that logic to reject an invasive oppressive government that's evidence I need to be jailed
*the government and the private sector can deny me employment based on my gender, skin pigment and/or sexual orientation
*if I am a woman, the gov't can remove my ability to only compete against biological women, because that's female empowerment
*the government can force me to give up riding in a car, plane, train and/or carnival cruise ship
*the government can mandate I stay inside my home and not go to work (I personally am enjoying all the folks saying, "Well now that we've given the gov't that particular power they will never use it again" ... holy moses that takes gallows humor to new heights, or depths?)
*the government can destroy my wealth by destroying the value of our currency
*the government can remove the pledge of allegiance from schools and replace it with Marxist orthodoxy
*the government can control my speech by passing thought-crime legislation making the wrong pro-noun a hate speech crime

I'm gonna be candid, I am not built at all for this future "I better get used to". Sure I'm a weirdo in the tiniest minority that ever existed. But dang it, I've decided to do something completely unAmerican, live free and make my own choices.

Lambda may be a pussy cat for young folks but it wouldn't necessarily be for high risk patients. I'm kind of on the threshold of that group. A bunch of new "cases" of Lambda would give ample excuse for the political machine to ramp up again for the midterm elections next year as well.
Click the link. You missed the joke

Lol, I have heard that it is absolutely awful, but I'm over here like

Well, what do they know? They're just doctors. Later today, I'll ask Jake down at the auto shop for his opinion and get back to you all on this. Gotta pick up my Ford. Chevy sucks.

It seems she’s not down with preventing private businesses from mandating vaccines for employment. And yes, that will hurt her in a GOP primary. Ron was willing to tell cruise lines they needed to accept all comers. Noem didn’t have the stones to jettison basic Republican ideals in order to chase the voters from Crazytown.

South Dakota is a business friendly libertarian state. She knows that she has zero authority to stop businesses from mandating vaccinations. South Dakota stays the hell out of private business's way as long as they are following the law. The thing that has brought this up is the Sanford hospital system has mandated vaccinations for all employees except those who seek a waiver. So in other words, IF you have legitimate religious or health reasons to not get vaccinated you don't have to. WAY too many people haven't gotten vaccinated because they simply don't want to bother doing it. For a healthcare worker who hasn't already had COVID, it was ludicrous to not get vaccinated this past spring.

That said, read the whole quote you posted. South Dakota has another huge hospital system that is trying desperately to find nurses and support staff and they don't and won't require vaccination. VERY easy for people to change jobs in South Dakota due to ridiculously low unemployment.

FWIW South Dakota's tourism receipts are up 150% from their previous yearly high. I would say the American public is voting about her leadership and popularity with their credit cards.

Did she over ride the voters will to legalize pot a year or so ago?? I had heard that from my gurlfriends daughter who's daughter is attending SDU but didn't care enough to follow up on it.

She has pushed some efforts to rein things in a bit. That is one of the reasons they're tyring to lynch the Republican attorney general for that fatal accident. He didn't work hard enough to defeat the recreational pot measure and afterwards had refused to pursue options to rescind it. Turns out that the guy he hit had a history of mental illness and had talked about committing suicide by stepping in front of a moving truck. That said, the recreational pot law passed largely because people were confused by the wording of the ballot and the AG's explanation. It wouldn't pass today if it were the only issue on the ballot appearing without the medical pot rule. There's still some litigation pending that could stop institution but I think the cat is out of the bag.

So does Covid avoid certain religious groups? Does it not infect people with health reasons?

The other hospital system is Catholic and they are reluctant to mandate vaccination because of how the vaccine was developed. I still think it's ludicrous to not get vaccinated but I respect the right of people to refuse on the basis of their faith. Again, over 95% of people over the age of 65 have been vaccinated in this country. I would estimate that over 99% of the highest risk people in this country have been vaccinated. At this point, we need to get on with our lives and let people refusing vaccination worry about their own skin.

People with health conditions preventing them from getting vaccinated are just as much at risk from things like influenza. One potential health reason to not get vaccinated is a history of allergic reactions to vaccines of similar composition.

I don't really care what private businesses do as far as mandating vaccinations and it isn't the business of a sitting governor to tell them what to do or not do. That is the whole point. People can make informed choices and then live with the choices they make.

Wonder what the big10 will do if a few states mandate lockdowns again. The conference looked like a total disaster last year, I don't see them trying to lock things down.

Hopefully they stay the hell out of decisions on fans in stadiums and cancelling games. I actually think maybe some governors and mayors figured out that their edicts didn't help much and really damaged their economies.

Your obsession with our governor is noted.

You’re 57, right? That’s like 70 in any other state not named WV. Are you sure you want to spend your golden years in college?

SD - 2309 Covid deaths/million (#10 overall)
WV - 1648/million (#30 overall)
Not originally from WV, but I'm friends with plenty of natives who are lovely people. Have spent no time on Zillow looking at SD properties. I'm five hours away from a lot of places, and seven hours from the beach.

My kids in Maryland were home basically all last year for school.

Kids in red states were not. They've been fighting germs daily since last August. There are probably a myriad of reasons Southern kids are being affected now, but not having been exposed to society is not one of them. They've been roaming free for a year now.
In hindsight, it was a big mistake to keep kids out of school for a year. But you don't know what you are talking about with your comments on red states. The vast majority of students lived in districts that took a lot of safety precautions including mandating masks, frequent hand sanitizing, altered scheduling, not allowing school visitors and other measures. Schools that just went on business as usual were primarily rural schools were idiots rule the day.

You should at least consider that these large medical centers and research facilities are competing for billions in federal grants for covid research and equipment and facility upgrades. My daughter is an M3 and last summer both research efforts she is involved with, switched gears to include covid funding. Most of her cohort had similar experiences. I'm guessing that these kind of places are going to be pretty careful of what kind of public narrative they put forth.

Where does WV rank in life expectancy?

Fair. But I'd rather trust my life with the doctors and facilities having conducted said research than anyone else.

Over 1,000 health professionals sign a letter saying, Don’t shut down BLM/Antifa protests using coronavirus concerns as an excuse

As I've said over and over. We killed science, comedy, civilization ... so we could worship our new God: politics

So let’s translate your post here. You admit that the inner city schools made the “big mistake” and then go on to basically belittle all rural people “were idiots rule the day” 😂 what a piece of work. I think VP Harris stereotyped rural people the same way a few months back. Birds of a feather. I have family in rural school systems and I imagine others on here do as well, Jackass.
