Willie Nelson was one of the best concerts I ever attended, for two hours all he did was play music and sings he never stopped and talked except at the end when he introduced everyone in his band

I don't often mention the state to the east of Nebraska, but my friend Greg Brown lives there and he has some tunes worth listening to. He comes out a fishes the missouri with us most summers and plays an audience better than he does a trout! He is married to Iris Dement who may be a little more famous than him (but I am not as fond of her music)

I saw Willie a few years ago when he was only 81. I had quite the opposite feeling. Jason Isbell opened the show and was awesome. Allison Krauss and Union Station were next and were worth the price I paid for the ticket. They were probably one of the best bands I have ever seen live. Then Willie came on. He SUCKED. Bad. Slayer would have been jealous at the volume they had Willie's guitar turned up to. The poor band had to keep adjusting to Willie's odd pace. Willie didn't feel like singing that night either. He just sort of mumble talked every song. Some of the songs were unrecognizable. Garage cover bands would have sounded ten times better than he did that night.

Think I saw him in the late 80’s that’s a few years ago

Willie was on my bucket list. Saw him play in November 2017 at Billy Bob's in Fort Worth. I was worried because he had some health problems. He had cancelled some shows due to health issues. I saw him online and he didn't sound too great. My mother had passed in June of that year and he was one of her favorites. Boy, I was glad when Willie started playing. He was great! I paid handsomely to sit halfway to the stage behind some pillars. I wish I could have afforded to sit closer. I forget the warm up band. They were good. Willie was awesome!

I've been listening to a lot of VH lately. Loved all it's eras (maybe not Chirone). Eddie was so talented on guitar and keyboards. Let's not forget his ability to make music. I have been revisiting some songs that I was burnt out on. I realized the music was what made it so popular. Great stuff.

Last night, last song to play on the Spotify list was from The Sheepdogs. Really solid Canadian band. Love 'em.

The one thing I don't get is he criticized Michael Anthony as a bass player. All three of them contributed to very unique sound. Progressive rock at it's best.

I really wish I had seen VH. And Cheap Trick with Bun E Carlos.

EVH was arguably a better drummer than guitar player. Personally, I think he was a wasted talent with the guys he surrounded himself with. Some of that stuff got pretty bad

Alex not so good? He was a timekeeper but still with a big sound. I don't know how any human can drum the intro to "Hot for Teacher". (Many actually have.)
