OT- Was this that 100 year flood event in Lincoln?

We had a rain just like this last October in Lincoln. It didn't flood like this. With more rain possible this week it could get really ugly.

100-year floods only come around once every hundred years (or so).

Being in a 100-year floodplain does not mean that a flood will or likely occur only once every 100 years, rather it means there is a 1% chance in any given year that that particular area will exceed its flood capacity.

We had 7 inches in under 9 hours last October?

Same one since I joined. Trying to navigate new board. I miss thread views. :(
I am confused. Looked like you were replying for ridge22 since you had not posted in the thread previously.

Slight tangent. There were people who thought that Lincoln's Antelope Valley project was a waste of money and overkill for a possible 100-year flood event. Sounds like those people were wrong.

I went into Wilderness Park yesterday evening at the 1st and W Calvert entrance. And it was a sight. Water was at the archway and covering the gravel parking lot. Trapped air was escaping from underground on the trail leading down to the once dry creek bed. It was a surreal sight and sound.
