Contador's teamate just got popped, so we know his team is on the juice. I'd like to see Alberto grab one more, but if I'm betting real money...Froooome.

Froome probably - would like to see someone challenge - Porte has looked good - but typically blows up on one stage and loses 5-10 minutes. Quintana will be cooked from the Giro and will lose time in the TT - my guess is that Valverde is in a better position that Quintana but he has said he is there to support Nairo.

I hope sky is vulnerable. A bit mundane to have sky on the front looking at their power meters the entire ride setting a tempo that is hard enough to discourage any attacks.

I hope we don't lose any big names to crashes or mechanicals.

Dont care bcuz the winner will be DQd for drugs years from now. Used to like this event, but its pretty much been ruined.

that is fair ... but it always confuses me when people of the same opinion follow the NFL so closely

this stuff goes on in every sport where there are millions of dollars at risk and there is great variability in how hard the sports actually try to police it

I know what you mean and I dont disagree. Honestly, cheating is rampant in almost all sports and it does taint how I feel about certain accomplishments. Like all those HR records in baseball. Or UNC winning basketball championship. I didnt even bother watching Oregon Auburn chmapionship game bcuz i felt they were both cheaters in terms of recruiting etc. Maybe WWE isnt so different

RIP, Sean Weide. Damn man I'm getting old when guys healthier than me just up and die. Crap.

i was saddened when valverde crashed and broke his patella. i agree that i think he was the strongest on MS. my money is on Froome. Team sky has by far the strongest team. they have 4 riders that could be the boss on other teams. Porte and Martin should be on the podium to the right and left of Froome in Paris.

With the 30+ second time advantage for froome after the 1st stage I hope, barring a crash, the tour isn't already decided. Froome may be able to simply wheel-suck his rivals all the way to Paris.

Yikes. I thought maybe Frost was more of a stand-up guy and would not participate in that kind of enviroment.

I thought we weren't supposed to like the franch...?

world champion and 5 time green jersey winner Peter Sagan - disqualified from Tour after elbowing Cavendish into the barriers.
viscous crash - it looked like someone rolled over Cavendish's face in the pile

What's the saying? If you ain't rubbin' you aint' racin'!

Another tour that is going to be decided by contenders acting like idiots and trying to steal time on death defying descents and crashing out rather than sacking up and attacking when the road turns up.

You can't do what you can't do, and nobody is going to beat Froome to the top, and if you remember, attacking on the way down last year by Froome himself all but sealed his win last year. I think it's a smart move personally.

I remember back in Jeff Gordon's heyday and Darrel Waltrip made this comment as he was covering a race..."Gordon is faster than everyone on the track, and his crew is faster than everyone on pit road, that doesn't leave a lot of places to catch him".

You gotta try something if you want to dethrone Froome, may as well try the downhill.

You have a point - but it is the first week - Porte has demonstrated he can ride with him earlier in the year - I think it is way too early to go full "Leroy Jenkins" down a highly technical descent on slick roads.

There hasn't even been a single summit finish yet

I think froome was a bit foolish last year as well - I think he got 15 seconds

Anyway maybe Aru can challenge and make it interesting

i guess i'll have to amend my prediction. Froome on the top of the podium and martin and Aru to either side of him. old school etiquette is difficult for most to understand. but Aru would ahve been black balled had he continued his attack. there is a very foggy line on whom this old school unwritten rule is applied to however.
