Thanks for the article. Very informative..
The legislation part I'm scratching my head. Not doubting you it's just not popping in my mind right nowIt doesn’t affect me. The guy got a lot of legislation passed so he could profit and kill the small businesses
Pushed for death tax, the average person couldn’t afford to pay the death tax so they end up selling out and his big corporations can swoop in and buy the property up cheapThe legislation part I'm scratching my head. Not doubting you it's just not popping in my mind right now
Here is the context of the death tax proposal.Pushed for death tax, the average person couldn’t afford to pay the death tax so they end up selling out and his big corporations can swoop in and buy the property up cheap
Thanks for posting. I hadn't seen that before. 2 million is way too low for small businesses/sole proprietorship. There’s ways around it i guess using LLC and trust but I would rather keep things simpleHere is the context of the death tax proposal.
Buffett Calls for $2 Million Exemption of 45% Estate Tax Rate
Warren Buffet, Bill Gates, Sr., Jimmy Carter, George Soros and others, have signed a statement calling for a "strong tax on the largest estates."www.gmdlegal.com
I don't think Warren had any effect on estate or inheritance taxes. Seems to me that Nebraska once again managed to find a way to tax it's citizens where other states somehow get by without the high taxes. Yes, the inheritance tax will affect me.Here is the context of the death tax proposal.

Ok. Hard to tell with an article that didn't provide any actual evidence. I think people are really digging deep to find reasons to hate Warren. Pretty laughable when people are attacking a guy for only drawing a $100,000 annual salary and then donating his wealth to charity. What a scumbag. Lol.I believe this proposal is on federal not state
I guess I’m a scum bag, I don’t hate Warren and there’s no class envy, what I don’t care is he made out to be a hero but he’s done some things that screw the little guy.Ok. Did he actually do anything to screw the little guy, or just give his opinion on a subject?I guess I’m a scum bag, I don’t hate Warren and there’s no class envy, what I don’t care is he made out to be a hero but he’s done some things that screw the little guy.
There are no ethical billionairesDid he actually do anything to screw the little guy, or just give his opinion on a subject?
I think that probably goes for anyone who has accumulated the wealth that people like Buffett has. He’s a smart businessman who has taken advantage of opportunities when they present themselves. Can’t really diss the guy for that.I guess I’m a scum bag, I don’t hate Warren and there’s no class envy, what I don’t care is he made out to be a hero but he’s done some things that screw the little guy.
I'm looking for specific instances of screwing the little guy. There are unethical people across all classes of people. That is neither here nor there. There are no ethical billionaires
Pretty simple. His company pays him a taxable wage of 100k. Company might pay all his other expenses related to his companyOk. Hard to tell with an article that didn't provide any actual evidence. They pay for his personal security. I dont believe they pay for much, if anything above that. Really does take a pretty humble person to not take a 20 million dollar salary when he could demand that and so much more.Pretty simple. His company pays him a taxable wage of 100k. What else would you need if your company pays for everything he needs to do.They pay for his personal security. I dont believe they pay for much, if anything above that. Really does take a pretty humble person to not take a 20 million dollar salary when he could demand that and so much more.
Huh? He could have bought a $30,000,000 house like all the other CO'S and then taken a salary in the tens of millions to pay for it. Downplaying his lack of a set salary is just strange. What else would you need if your company pays for everything he needs to do.
I'd like to know what he pays his secretary since he's always said she pays more in taxes than he does.
I'm not badmouthing uncle Warren. I applaud him and his successful career and yes he's lived common man's life of means. I'm just saying that 100k as a salary is a little bit fakeHuh? Did he own a house in SF? Wasn’t his wife estranged from him for years? I’d bet money he found a tax loophole where he was able to pay himself way more than 100 grand completely legal but again the little guy wouldn’t be able to do that and end up paying a lot in taxesI'm not badmouthing uncle Warren. I imagine that he's finally slowing down and that's why he's retiring. He's done a lot for American investing-- he's gotta be the most quoted too.Watched some of the q&a earlier today. Man that was like listening to rfk Jr. Hard to listen to.
Congratulations to him. He's had a heck of a career
He said his secretary pays a higher tax rate than he does. Long term capital gains tax is low. What else would you need if your company pays for everything he needs to do.
