But if you look at it through the lens of someone completely deranged or otherwise divorced from reality, you can see that it makes perfect sense. With all the former NFL players, coaches, execs moving on from the NFL. They retire from the NFL (or get cut or fired). They then lead regular lives. Go to BBQs, get other jobs, make new friends, raise kids, get away from football, etc. Many with injuries, concussions, mental health issues, and so on, and many go broke within a few years of leaving the NFL.
Yet not a single person has got loose lipped, drunk, or made comments to others about the NFL being fixed. Especially as these are some of the most competitive people on the planet. I can't imagine a high level athlete being told to drop a pass, throw a pic, miss a tackle, etc and be OK with it.
Example of a player to his GF/Wife/Friend/Parent: "That pass I dropped in that game, well I had to drop it. It was my job to drop that pass. But I was OK with it because I made a lot of money. I was Ok with looking like a fool on national TV".
Yet not one single story or witness has come to light, I wonder how that is possible..............The whole idea is laughable.
I don't know how they got to Brett Maher. I can only assume massive gambling debts piled up somewhere. So sad.But if you look at it through the lens of someone completely deranged or otherwise divorced from reality, you can see that it makes perfect sense.
Thank you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! One of our fans on here that I know is adamant the fix is in...so stupid....With all the former NFL players, coaches, execs moving on from the NFL. thisNailed it.
It's like the people who insist that (insert massive tragedy here involving hundreds or thousands of people) "was an inside job".
They typically are somehow able to hold these same beliefs simultaneously (with a straight face)
1) The US government is incompent beyond belief in virtually every facet.
2) The US government -- in spite of being grossly incompetent at everything -- managed to pull off an inside job worthy of another Ocean's 11 sequel, only involving hundreds or thousands of people instead of 11. And either nobody ever talked about it or the media was uninterested in picking up and running the biggest news story of the last century.
I wonder how much sports they've played. None at higher levelsBut if you look at it through the lens of someone completely deranged or otherwise divorced from reality, you can see that it makes perfect sense.
difference here...individual vs. a league......We all know that there have been more than one point shaving scandal in basketball. We have Tim Donaghy as an example. Pro tennis has its questions about match fixing. So anything is possible. Sports gambling is off the charts huge. It really doesn’t take much to affect outcomes. One call here and there….
Even tho I’m a grassy knoll guy, you are right.difference here...individual vs. a league......
NOW....HAVING SAID THAT....I've always believed KU gets EVERY CALL AT
