Sounds way cooler to get killed by a grizzly when people read about it in the local paper. I can just imagine my wife going on a blind date afterwards. New guy: " so may I ask how your husband passed"? Wife: "Mauled to death by a grizzly".True..... But you will have a better chance of getting killed by a Grizzly in YNP!

Umm...what are you talking about? What "hate" did I spew? I agreed with the statement that there are a lot of people from the West coast in the Yellowstone area right now, and trust me, I have first-hand knowledge of that fact. Quit trying so hard to be offended. What does that even mean? Its Yellowstone. There are people from everywhere. Literally everywhere in the world. I never understood how people can bring hate into everything they do.
Not offended, just annoyed. I apologize if I singled out the wrong person. I'm just sick of all the back handed stuff. "Peoples republic..."Umm...what are you talking about? What "hate" did I spew? Or the Grizzly had Covid, wasn't wearing a mask and practicing social distancing. It would hit the papers that you died of Covid.
To each his own on. I like that north loop and Gardiner is a beautiful spot. I've hiked in the Spanish Peaks Wilderness up in that area. HIked there when there were wanted posters up at the trail heads for the Nichols boys. Being from parts east of the park makes it easier to use that side for me.I agree with everything here...... except I prefer Gardiner and Mammoth Hot Springs for my base camp on the north side of the park. Leaving the YNP thru the Tetons is a recommendation as well, but it will add an extra day to your adventure.
Joking about an area's obvious socialist leanings is a little different than calling people racists don't you think? Tourism is booming for some reason in the Dakotas and Wyoming right now.Not offended, just annoyed. I apologize if I singled out the wrong person. I'm just sick of all the back handed stuff. I'm sure everyone would be fine if I happened to mention "be prepared for hordes of racist Trump supporters". It's another way for people to get shots in. The guy is also considering Colorado. I don't think where people are from must be affecting his decision.
It's a generalization about being communist, right? So what's the point of the comment other than to hate on a group of people, which is pretty common these days? In what way does the place of residence of Yellowstone visitors have an effect on his trip? He was open to Colorado so I don't think people from California or Oregon, no matter their politics, were going to play a part in his decision.Joking about an area's obvious socialist leanings is a little different than calling people racists don't you think? When you see a tourist getting tossed in the air by a buffalo he/she got too close to, the odds are that they are either from a foreign country or a blue state.. The comment about being from a socialist leaning state has more to do with their driving habits and lack of common sense around wild animals regardless of their party affiliation. It's interesting that you take such offense at a tongue in cheek statement and respond with an extremely offensive false generalization about a segment of voters. BTW, my daughter-in-law who grew up in a communist block country says "the only difference between socialism and communism is that socialism is a more acceptable name". She's horrified at what she sees going on here and says "this is exactly what the Marxists did when they overthrew our government. They destroyed our historical statues and cultural symbols". I digress. Enough politics. Peace. It's a generalization about being communist, right? So what's the point of the comment other than to hate on a group of people, which is pretty common these days?
