I met with a rep from Vivint yesterday. She put together a smart home system that included controlling locks and garage from smart phone. A doorbell camera that detects motion as well as another outdoor security cam that can be monitored remotely from anywhere. It also comes with 3 door sensors and 3 glass break sensors.
It came out to be 75/month with a 42 month contract. Now that I am shopping around, this is by far the highest price.
What I am looking to do is control my locks and garage with my cell phone. I would also like to have at least one wireless motion censored camera. The home security aspect is not as much of a want at this point although it is nice.
Any services out there where I can get the same for a much lesser price and commitment? Am I better off just buying the equipment by myself and avoiding the monthly service?
