This is so incredibly misleading. The two major political parties, GOP & Dems, are not the same parties today that
they were 50 yrs. ago, even 8 yrs. ago. To dredge up what each of them did and/or stand for then isn't even partially true today. Using Lincoln as an example of how forward-thinking the GOP is on race relations is absurd.
And the Jim Crow laws most evident in the South of years ago were the legislation of the Dems in the South.
The Dems and the Repubs. can be turned 180% today from what they used to be. Please get your history more correct....

180%? You should bow out now before you embarrass yourself even more.

FYI - the "big party switch" myth is just that, a myth. When one takes an overall historical view of today's two major parties, one has been predominantly about less government and more freedom, while the other has been predominantly about more government and less freedom.

Agree. More walls, cameras and guards... and laws that enable our border patrol to turn the aliens around at the border without any stipulations. It makes absolutely no sense that we allow some illegal border crossers to live off of the taxpayer dime while their asylum claims are litigated. They should be made to come in the legal way, just as all other legal immigrants did.

Great ad here. Hope we can get back to talking to each other and not over each other. Decency shouldn't be the exception but the norm.

during a telephone townhall with Nebraskans.

Sasse, who is cruising toward re-election, said Trump:
  • refused to take the pandemic seriously
  • treated the pandemic as a news cycle PR crisis
  • "Kisses dictator's butts"
  • "mocks evangelicals behind closed doors"
  • "regularly sells out our allies"
  • "flirted with white supremacists"
  • "has treated the presidency like a business opportunity"
“I’m now looking at the possibility of a Republican bloodbath in the Senate, and that’s why I’ve never been on the Trump train,” he said. “It’s why I didn’t agree to be on his reelection committee, and it’s why I’m not campaigning for him.”

On an unrelated note just saw former Georgia great Herschel Walker speak for the second time this week. He’s a very well spoken man.

im serious you cant tell me you weren’t mad as hell at the Muslims on September 12 if you say you were fine then I’m calling bs
I was mad at the particular Muslims that executed the attacks on 9/11. I was not, however, mad at all Muslims for it, just like I wasn't mad at all white people because of what happened at Oklahoma City or Columbine.

You might want to take some of that up with the folks of all political stripes that hire them. That would include the wealthy liberal that hires them as gardeners to the CEOs of Tyson and Cargill that vote R for the corporate tax breaks.

Or, have you not noticed that not as many come when people aren't hiring. Of course, if an American has lost their job to an illegal immigrant that is far less educated and can do the job better, faster, and cheaper, then I'd have to say that the American has likely made some bad life choices.

For all the railing some of you do about socialism, it isn't socialism that caused the illegal immigrant problem in America.

That might be, but you're glossing over the main point, which is that they come here because American capitalists hire them. Accordingly, we should be demanding accountability and stiff legal consequences for those that do so. Otherwise, it's all a bunch of political grandstanding hogwash.

Your second graph hits on a point that I feel is lost on most conservatives. 1. They don't want unlawful immigration because those folks are taking American jobs, but they're also 2. against programs or incentives that would help Americans who are losing those jobs to immigrants become gainfully employed. 3. So they don't want to make what are otherwise bottom rung jobs more attractive to Americans, which leaves a vacuum that immigrants gladly fill. 4. Not only that, most people are appreciative of their work ethic, and the fact that they do something that Americans won't and they do it for low wages and almost no benefits. 5. Conservatives can't seem to connect the dots that stricter and stricter border enforcement absolutely ensures that immigrants will be trafficked. Why? Because they know jobs are there waiting for them, and they really aren't worried about losing those jobs to Americans, just other immigrants. 6. So they do whatever takes. 7. This will never change. It is a fact of humanity, we migrate, we've always migrated. Alas, as with most conservative views, they aren't necessarily bad, just obdurate.

Anytime the old man is asked a tough question he snaps. That's why the media is covering for him and asking what kind of milkshake he got. Then his handlers put him down for nappy time. All while the President is criss crossing the country answering moronic questions from the liberal media. Why Biden wouldn't last a week as the potus. He will have to answer about Burisma and shady Hunter soon. Like Thursday debates. Not from libtard moderator but Trump himself. Good luck Joe.

This is a perfect example of false equivalency. Trump is a torrid river of insults, which he is roundly criticized for. Obviously, Biden has also made offensive comments. In your view, that makes the two men equal? Does the sheer volume not make a difference in your mind? By this logic, nothing matters, nothing at all. Kill one person kill one thousand, it's all the same. Lie once, lie 100,000 times, exactly the same. Is that right? What's the point of having standards? Why not vote for the homeless guy on the corner? He might be a filthy drunk, but hey, the POTUS has had a drink before, so it's all the same.

You make a good point. It's like saying that the death penalty is equivalent to abortion when one has cost approximately 1,600 deaths in the US since 1976 and the other millions.

I have a doctorate. My spouse is a Mayo trained M.D. I know cardiologists, pulmonologists, radiologists, etc etc. They're ALL voting for Trump. Oh yeah so are all of the farmers, contractors and retired folks I know. I guess we're all just a bunch of ignorant stooges.Winking

Exactly. My brother has a German Phd EE and is a "very" big Trump fan (even more than me). He tells me all his EE buddies are in like Flynn for Trump. It sure appears the overwhelming vast majority of EE grads aren't snowflakes.

So yeah, of course we're truly just a bunch of ignorant stooges. Oh well..... ;)

Clever! But the issues are significantly more complicated than one side accusing the other of false equivalency. This gets us into a discussion of value systems. Ideally, societies compromise, at least functioning societies. You and I might be against abortion, but in a society where a majority of people do not share our view you have to strike a balance. For example, legal abortion, but only under certain circumstances. Same goes for the death penalty. Politics should reflect the values of the societies they represent, the problem is we have a value system divide on several key issues in this country and nobody wants to compromise.

At least you both admit your ignorance.

Yep, I know some of the family. Hope they catch the bastard
And the
They can't back down, not for a minute. If they did, the edifice of their belief system would crumble. Look at Gammadouch's avatar. Could it be any more misogynistic? If you were to mention that it's inappropriate and why, he'd predictably respond with a whataboutism, possibly he'd call you a snowflake. Anything to avoid responding to serious question. On social issues, like race, conservatives either don't see it, or they willfully pivot to something that seemingly props up their narrow view of the world.
Nothing gets by you. I bet you were a decent hall monitor in grade school.

Oh. I forgot. You're the smartest, most enlightened guy working as a BK fry cook their is. Typical liberal douche who thinks they know all and everyone else is an uneducated hick living in flyover country. Move to NY or SF then bud. I'm sure they have burger kings there too. Doubt you can pay 3k a month rent there so I'm sure Pelosi will make room for your dumb ass in tent city with the rest of the know it all liberal scum. Lol

"Gammadouch"?!?!

Insulting someone by using the name of a feminine hygiene product? That's seems kinds misogynisticky to me.
A douche is not exclusively used as a feminine hygiene product. I was specifically non specific.

By the way, did you see the news today that the Pope calling for civil union laws for same-sex couples? Progressive Pope.

This sentence right here shows how completely ignorant you are of not only the history of immigration in our country but also of our immigration laws.

What in the world are you even talking about? What part of the following sentence is confusing to you? "They should be made to come in the legal way, just as all other legal immigrants did."

That you apparently believe in some fairy tale of how immigrants arrived in this country over the years.

President Trump: "It's a nice day outside".
Politico Fact Check: Mostly False - there was a slight rain from 1300-1400; therefore, we cannot agree that it was a "nice day".

President Trump: "The White House staff did not...." The President decides not to finish the sentence.
CNN Fact Check: Here's what we think the President was going to say and here's why it was not true.

This actually happened. One of the "Fact Checkers" guessed what the President was going to say and then rated the words they put in his mouth as false. It's one big sham and you're allowing yourself to be fooled by a very manipulative media if you don't see it.

Gotta say, on this board the conservative insult machine is toxic. I came here thinking I'd just present my thoughts and that would be that. Wrong! I was attacked both for my ideas and on a personal level in a most vicious manner. At this point, I'm just a player in the game. My question is why respond only to me and none of the conservatives who are nasty and insulting? Is it because you share their views? I'm not saying that you're wrong to address me directly, but I'm curious why only me.

Dude, I don't think liberals have TDS nearly as bad as you do. That you bend over to defend what any objective person would readily admit is indefensible is beyond me. Over and over and over you keep bringing up CNN. I don't watch CNN. I don't care. Your emphasis on that media is lost on me. But let me just add here that you do not hold your sources of information to the same standard. Fox and Friends serves him slow-moving soft balls all day, every day. Sean never asks him a hard question, and he never questions Trump's dubious responses. He is a cheer leader for the POTUS and nothing more. You're so far to the right that you can't even see the middle.
