Sasse, who is cruising toward re-election, said Trump:
  • refused to take the pandemic seriously
  • treated the pandemic as a news cycle PR crisis
  • "Kisses dictator's butts"
  • "mocks evangelicals behind closed doors"
  • "regularly sells out our allies"
  • "flirted with white supremacists"
  • "has treated the presidency like a business opportunity"
“I’m now looking at the possibility of a Republican bloodbath in the Senate, and that’s why I’ve never been on the Trump train,” he said. “It’s why I didn’t agree to be on his reelection committee, and it’s why I’m not campaigning for him.”

May be true, but Barry bows and would certainly take a knee. The leader of the United States should never bow or kneel to a foreign sovereignty. Some of you ****ers should travel or join the military. The world sucks, and Sasse is a RINO. Sasse isn't a conservative.

Sasse is one weird dude.

Sasse may not cruise... I'm pretty average as far as conservatives.

Here's Trump saluting the North Korean General in charge of a network of concentration camps where people are routinely tortured and 5-7K either starve or are beaten to death every year.

Have to think many feel that way behind closed doors but won't say it until he is gone. Many will start to change their tune publicly over the next few months in a attempt to save their own hide.

Huh? Plz?

I don't get how it is that Sasse is a RINO, while Trump, who has switched parties all his life, is a real Republican/conservative. I bet Sasse has never donated to Democrats; Trump has as recently as 2011.

Sasse votes conservative on almost every vote.

Sasse may be right on some of these points. But he certainly is dense to the big picture. He's like one of those popular egg heads who talk circles around someone less intelligent. Meanwhile, the other guy is highly productive and very popular on his own right.

Pay attention to what Trump is accomplishing.
Middle East peace Accord
Renegotiated Canadian and Mexican trade deals
Getting us out of costly Wars
Did not start any new Wars
Kept North Korea in check
Killed off a couple of major terrorists
Record low unemployment for all groups
Got a good start on the border wall
Removed billions of dollars of wastefulregulation
Is going after the corrupt deep state
Has added three stellar people to the Supreme Court
Has taken on the thought police

So Ben Sasse, why don't you get to work on some legislation that will make this country more prosperous and more free. See Josh Hawley and Tom Cotton if you need some examples of what strong leadership looks like.

Exactly. Somehow the President who is on record saying he is Pro Choice and who said he is in favor of partial birth abortions, and then last night still wouldn’t commit to the conservative position on Roe v. Wade, is the “real” conservative. He’s a fraud with zero conservative principles. You lose all street cred as a conservative if you think Trump is a conservative.

All while being attacked daily by the MSM and a three year Russia collusion hoax. I would say a job pretty well done. Get past the rhetoric and look at what this guys does.

Sasse is a coward. If he really felt this way he could have had the backbone to say it long ago. Why do you think he waits until now?
Because guys like Sasse and Mitch are political survivors and see the that Trump will lose and that the Senate will be a bloodbath for Rs. They want to be on the record before the election having had distanced themselves from Trump.

Obviously, but it's so transparent that I can't believe that anyone would take him seriously. In other words, this is the exact sort of fickle behavior that makes the average person hate politicians.

Trump will win in a landslide. You've got three weeks to prepare your excuses. Better get crackin'.

1970. Democrats were Democrats, and Republicans were Republicans.

2000. Democrats are socialists. Republicans are Democrats.

2020. Democrats are communists. Republicans are socialists.

What the heck happened to our country? Why do people want to let the government control them and not control themselves?

Obama unjustly killed thousands upon thousands of innocent people in the middle east with drone strikes. He broke the sovereignty of 15 nations and his cruel and blunt sanctions against Russia, Venezuela, North Korea, and Iran lead to economic collapse in all of the countries. His embrace of fracking also forced our enemies into contraction and massive weakening. Obama had an alliance of Asian partners against China, an alliance of european and baltic partners against russia, and an alliance of middle eastern partners against Iran. All of our enemies are stronger in 2020. Iran even fought a 1 day war with us and assaulted american troops, Russia killed american troops with payment from Putin, NK and Iran once against producing Nuclear weapons. Only an ignorant person could say that Obama took a knee globally...

Name a state that Trump is going to win in 2020 that he didn't win in 2016.

I'm just wondering, because there's about 8 states that he won in 2016 that he is in danger of losing in 2020.

He might pull it out, but 2016 was the 4th closest election since and including 1960. I somehow doubt this will be a landslide.

What the heck happened to our country? Why do people want to let the government control them and not control themselves?

90 years ago our ancestors were starving to death while trying to grow food in dust, government handouts, programs, housing, and work along with a government sponsored world war was the only thing that allowed most of us to be born. Every farmer, rancher who manages their own life relies on hundreds or thousands of people to buy their produce and these people are managed by government systems. Farming has been subsidized by government for 100 years and would fail immediately if towns and cities had to manage their own electricity, water, transportation, infrastructure, law enforcement...most of the wealth gained by the last generations came from subsidized government housing, government supported unions, and worker protections litigated by government. A corporation is a government...it has a governing body, in fact some of the the first corporations were communist syndicates in Italy. A corporation has only one goal, to support the chairman and his "duda" or board of investors. For some reason americans would rather be run by tiny greedy corporations who are openly corrupt, rather than governments run by community members who are slightly corrupt but have a main goal of governance instead of profit. I guarantee this board would feel very differently if your government backed pensions, 401k, and SS were suddenly removed in favor of a for profit system.

Trump is not a Republican. I'm not really sure what he is, to be honest. I had no faith that he would do anything he said he would do when he ran in 2016 for the reasons some have stated in this thread (had been pro-abortion, bad personal morals, sophomoric rhetoric, etc.). I didn't vote for him.

The reality is that he has done a ton of good things for our country and is the most pro-life president in history. Do I wish he was more "presidential?" Sure, but the fact of the matter is that he is about the only politician that is standing up against the globalists for our national sovereignty.

I heard a good analogy that if you have a bodyguard, you're not concerned if he is brash and not overly kind to people. You just want him to keep order, protect you, and take out the trash (within the bounds of the law, of course). At this point, that's how I see Trump.

As for Sasse, I have liked a lot of the things he has said, but it's very disappointing to hear him parrot all the dem talking points about Trump. And the fact that he toned down his anti-Trump rhetoric long enough to get his endorsement and solidify his re-election just shows he's closer to the typical establishment Republican than I had hoped. I guess you can take the man out of Yale, but you can't completely take Yale out of the man.

This guy gets it! Imperfections by Trump? certainly, but look at the S__t show at the Democratic machine, and how they have sold out technology (Clinton/Gore) Clinton signing control waivers allowing transfer of improved missle Guidance systems to the Chicoms knowing China had nucular tipped ICBm's targeted at the US, but lacked the proper guidence. (Thanks Bill and J Reno)
Anyone who votes, (although i have found few that even have a clue about pay to play Dems)
should consider the damage this treasonous party has done.
may be too late at this point but guys like Sasse are purely , finger in the air guys, seeing what will look better in the aftermath and cowardly say......see......SEE i told you so!!
Sasse the Coward of the County....and country

The people control the government. Talk to your neighbors.

The pure hate for The Donald has driven the Democrats to promote an old white guy with dementia.
The world is laughing.
And the guy that retweets conspiracy theories like some crazy uncle that no one wants to have over at Thanksgiving isn't being laughed at.

OK.

I'd bet pretty good money that there are far more Republicans that also parrot those talking points about Trump than you think.

I think both Nevada and Minnesota are possibilities.

Minnesota
New Hampshire
Nevada
maybe Oregon

He loses nothing. The polls by MSM and left leaning groups mean nothing. Hillary was cruising along with an 11 point lead 4 years ago. I stand by my landslide prediction. The cries for popular vote will be stronger than ever.

Sasse is really not unlike most Republican Senators in terms of how they really feel about Trump. Trump is Trump. He hasn't changed one bit since he got to office. For those who have forgotten what was said about him in 2015 and early 2016 and actually care to know, just do a quick search. Republican criticism of Trump was pretty harsh. But that was part of how he got elected, he was the protest candidate, the anti-Washington guy who would drain the swamp.
