Here is why it is a poor idea to invest in democratic strongholds. Bondholders were screwed, pensioners were rewarded for what? Bonds probably paid for their jobs to begin with. Dangerous president when GM was allowed to screw their bond holders in favor of the unions.

My take is, don't finance municipalities what are typical democratic strongholds, they all change the rules mid-stream and bite the hand that feeds them (Detroit, Stockton, San Bernardino, PR, soon to be Chicago)
