Found out that one of my old derelict haunts from college is shutting down this weekend.
Live racing at Mobile Greyhound Park ends forever this Saturday. Naturally, since I was in town anyway, I went and paid my respects this afternoon.
I only stayed for one race. The last three times I've visited a greyhound track, I've inadvertently gone home with greyhounds. Sure enough, after the first race, I found myself talking to the lady who runs the track's adoption program. So I got the hell outta there - had I stuck around for one more race, I'm sure that I would've went home with another greyhound.

FYI, if you're ever in downtown Mobile, have lunch at The Blind Mule. Terrific shrimp poboys:
Nothing better than shrimp fresh out of the Gulf.
