OT: Relocating to the Aberdeen/Baltimore MD Area

A recent job opportunity at Aberdeen Proving Ground has me debating whether to relocate to Aberdeen. Is anyone familiar with the area? Anything I should watch out for? I have heard Aberdeen isn't the nicest. Should I look to commute from the Baltimore area? Husker watchsites? TIA!
