OT-Post debate polls...

Hillary Clinton’s emails from 6 years ago seems like the exact issue that will persuade swing voters in a campaign happening in a pandemic and recession. Seems like the hangers on and grifters are grasping at straws at this point. I really think trump is angling to buy OANN when he is out of office and turning it in to Trump TV. I mean his hard core base subscription revenue would be a good business move.

It matters, potentially, if there is Russia info. or anything that makes the Obama administration look more suspect.

Shows how shady the Dems have been since Trump won 4 years ago. They are like spoiled kids who don't get their way. Been crying, cheating and lying ever since. If Trump had done anything close to what Hildog had done he would be in jail and it would be front page news by the lamestream media. Instead they just ignore and hope it goes away. Guess what dems?. It's not going away!!! Haha haha Suck it Hilary

Obama was up to his eyeballs in the conspiracy. And that is exactly what it was. Criminal conspiracy. Biden was at the very least privy to what was going on as well as he sat in on at the very least the most important meeting with Obama and Susan Rice. Comey, Brennan, Obama, Hillary and several underlings should all go to jail.

I am certain that we share more core values than you would want to admit, which makes your views on some matters so hard to understand. Objectivity would suggest a middle ground, but your views are absolute. How is it that you see criminality in the Obama administration, and innocence in the Trump administration? This has nothing to do with my views of Obama, Hillary or any of their lot. Hillary might stink to high heaven, and her behavior might suck a fat one, but for all of the effort to pin a crime on her, and there has been a pretty significant effort to nail her, nothing has stuck. Is it your view that it's all deep state conspiracy? I don't care if you hate Obama and love Trump, or love Trump's policies and hate Obama's. I want to know why you believe Obama should be in prison, based on your understanding of the law and proven fact? Meanwhile, Trump has been mired in lawsuits his entire adult life, yet none of that bothers you in the least? It's such an clear disconnect in reasoning, how do you reconcile the two?

I listed to a guy talk about comments from "undecided" voters and it was interesting and kind of echoed my thoughts. They said Pence won the debate for the shear fact that Kamala is just an unlikeable person. Her facial expressions and how condescending she is turns people off. Both candidates ducked a ton of things, but she is just an unlikeable person.
I just don't see how anyone can logically vote for Dems this election. I consider myself an independent and have voted for both sides. If you can't see the direction they are attempting to take this country you aren't paying attention. Every single city that is in turmoil is ran by a democrat. Their cities are basically turning into 3rd world countries. The divide and hate in the country really got rolling under a democrat president (Obama) Do you really want to bring that to the whole country by electing Biden and Harris. Well Harris, we all know Biden won't make it 4 years.
You can hate Trump. You can think he is a horrible person with a loud mouth. That is fine, I don't really like the guy on a personal level. One thing is for sure. He will protect this country. He will protect its people. He will keep the radical nut left socialists at bay. Can you really say you feel more safe with 4 years of Biden and Harris? There is nothing they have done or said that suggests America wont go down the toilet like every one of their dem ran cities or socialism in general. Obviously we are all free to vote as we see fit, but please just turn off the news and really dig into the past of each candidate. Look up their background, the laws they support the things they have said. The direction they want to take this country. If after doing so you still feel Biden is a better option, so be it.
Back to Harris the women is a life size version of a bobblehead . Seriously the lady never stops bobbing her head around when talking.

I too am an independent voter, and, with all due respect, there is lots to unpack with your post. I’m going to try and keep it short.

First off, most big cities are run by Democrats. That includes the ones that aren’t in turmoil, which would be most of them. I tend to believe that there is more to whether or not a city is in turmoil than the letter that follows the mayor’s name. Even if the murder rate of NYC ends up 100% higher than what it was 2 years ago, it will still be lower than the murder rate of Wichita, Kansas, which has had 3 Republican mayors out of the last 5.

Regarding hate and division; I find it laughable that you’re laying all of that on the Obama administration while ignoring the actions of the current occupant of the White House. If a there had been a plot to kidnap and possibly murder a sitting governor of either political stripe, I feel very confident that Obama, for whatever other faults he might have, would have not responded by attacking the governor.

I also have a hard time believing that a president that takes the word of a foreign dictator over our own intel folks, owes at least $400 million to unknown foreign lenders, has spent a lifetime in lawsuits, spent his lifetime caring about himself and no one else, and essentially provided zero leadership on COVID, is the guy best suited to protect America; and yes, those are more serious issues than AOC and the Green New Deal-which, while not a huge fan, has been judged more by a flippant memo than actual contents.

So yes; while I voted for Gary Johnson in 2012 and 2016, and would have gladly voted for Kasich, Rubio, or Bush against Hillary, I will in fact be voting for Biden.

There are several prominent Republicans that have endorsed Biden, so I guess I don't understand what is so unbelievable. But, oh well; I'm not going to waste my time trying to prove my voting history on an anonymous college football chat board.

I'll leave it here; my memory of presidents goes back to Reagan. I was able to vote for the first time in 1992. Even when I have disagreed on policy, I have been able to respect how all have represented the nation. The current occupant of 1600 Pennsylvania has broken that streak.

The transcripts of the meeting those people had in the White House are enough to prove criminal conspiracy. As I told my Nixon hating left wing McGovern campaign chairman brother, Nixon was an amateur compared to Obama. He had nothing to offer to defend Obama's and the FBI's actions. I take it you have not read the transcripts of that meeting. It's very clear that the FBI falsified documents in order to get the FISA court approval to surveil Trump and his associates.

As it turns out Flynn was coerced in to giving a confession in order to keep them from inflating charges. Flynn was smart enough to know that IF the FBI wants to get you, they will. There was NOTHING criminal in any of Trump's or Flynn's actions and that is proven now by multiple reports and transcripts. Flynn was set up (framed if you will). It is normal procedure for an incoming President to be in communication with foreign governments. The only criminal wrong doing of a Trump campaign official was in their personal finances which was discovered as the result of illegal surveilance.

A family member with national security clearance once told me that they were told by the Director of the CIA that IF you knew what they can do with emails and phone recordings, you wouldn't use email or your phone anymore. Clearly all it takes is a couple of FBI agents with their superior's blind eye to attempt to bring down a

So you're telling me that the guy that has flipped parties several times in his life, and does nothing in the way of reflecting the conservatism that developed in the 1980s and 90s, is the real Republican?

OK.
nope. He's not a fiscal conservative which I don't like. I also don't like his personal behavior. The main thing I support Trump for has been his policy decisions. I don't pay that much attention to what politicians say. I watch what they do legislatively. Trump has exceeded my expectations on his policy and Supreme Court decisions.

SCOTUS to me isn't an accomplishment; that's more opportunity. If a vacancy doesn't develop, a SCOTUS nomination isn't made. 3 vacancies developed through no effort of his own, and Trump has had a friendly Senate his entire term. Ergo, not much of an accomplishment.

I don't like all of Trump's policies. If he wins, I won't like all of Biden's either.

I'm at the point of seeing how someone represents our nation, and the current guy stinks IMO. If Biden/ Harris stinks as well, should they win, I have zero qualms about voting them out in 4 years if I feel the opponent will be better.

Agree to disagree, sir.

Then you're missing the big picture. For the POTUS, there's no job more important or one that has a longer lasting effect than that of filling lifetime appointments in the judiciary. This is especially true for the SCOTUS.

Has President Trump succeeded here? IMO it's a mixed bag, but only time will tell for sure.

It's hard to explain the irrationality of right wing America today. Their use of circumstantial evidence to arrive at unsubstantiated conclusions that support their beliefs is hard to square.

Virtually none of this is demonstrated by fact, and your claims to insider sources at the very highest levels of government stretches credulity to the extreme. I'm not going to rehash the Russia investigation, it's enough to see you conveniently omitting crucial evidence from the record. You're not a serious person. I can promise you this, in 25 to 30 years, Trump will be remembered as inept and having precipitated the decline of American leadership. Obama will be criticized for his failings, as all presidents are, but his legacy will endure.

OR
Trump will be lauded for having the stones to take on corruption in the US govt.

Not sure how old you are, but I am coming up on 50 and I remember the Reagan years very well. He was roundly criticized as being a dumb cowboy actor. He reset the tone for American conservatism, who won the Cold War and set America on a path to unprecedented prosperity. George Bush was the head of the CIA. Gerald Ford was a graduate of Michigan law and Yale University. These are not dumb men. Obama and Clinton are viewed by the media as virtual geniuses. It's more of the typical narrative of the left-wing media. I know plenty of people who never liked Obama for his smug condescending tone towards people of faith and conservatives. An equal number of fragile Americans will recoil in horror at the thought of Donald Trump's Legacy.

I'm not that far behind you in age. Reagan was a famously popular president, even during his time. All presidents are criticized, that's to be expected. But I think the conservative anger over Obama's condescension clouded their views of the man. I'm not saying he wasn't tone deaf, but the rage he provoked is disproportionate to the actual comments he made. Here we have a perfect example of false equivalency. Obama once said something along the lines of people "clinging to their guns and bibles" and conservatives lost their minds. It was condescending, but it pales in comparison to Trump's "rapists and murders," which his tribe cheered. In fact, there are more than a few conservatives on the board who shrug off all his comments, yet hold Obama's feet the fire. I don't get it.

Trump does much more than just say mean things. This wanabe despot is a sadist. A sadist is a truly sick individual who derives pleasure from the pain he inflicts on others. Nine books, countless audio tapes, all the major and cable news networks (except) fox, Three of the top newspapers (NYT) and the Post, speak and write the truth about this loser and sucker. Oh wait, suckers and losers ? That's what he called our soldiers who died on foreign soil. His language is directly from the gutter. He cheats, lies, and hurts everyone in his path. He is a Sadist and history will not be kind to him as he sits in a jail cell for crimes against the United States and humanity.

I think what many people like about Trump is that he stands up and fights back. We are frustrated by so many weak and ineffective Republicans who whine and complain when mean-spirited Democrats take the fight to them. Trump refuses to act like a politician. He throws protocol out the window. We see the Democratic party as a powerful force that has taken up the culture war fight against ordinary working class people. They are a hammer to our nail. People are tired of constantly being called racist, sexist and religious zealots. They're tired of wasted taxes and attacks on American culture and tradition. He's tapped into that anger brilliantly. We're not naive. We know he's not really one of us. He'd rather be liked by beautiful celebrities and be seen at Hollywood premieres, but he's burned that bridge. But I do believe he loves America. He's willing to stand up for American interest when it comes to trade and jobs. He's fought back against these mindless and endless wars. As a businessman he sees more benefit to free market solutions over costly government programs. I also perceive that Democrats think Americans are stupid. They lie to us a fair amount as well, but do so in a nicer tone. I'm more of a give it to me straight kind of person. Let the free expression of ideas run and let the best ones win.

Thank you for a perfect example. What you just said can be completely thrown out. We're supposed to believe anonymous sources from Atlantic magazine that he said these things? So you are repeating a complete lie. What kind of coward would say such a heinous thing publicly, but hide their identity? I keep hearing people call him a racist, but they never call sleepy Joe a racist. We've got at least a dozen examples of joe being racist the last 50 years on audio and video. Would you like to own that? I don't think so

No, you won't. You'll in fact be voting for Harris.

As with so many other issues these days, the Dems aren't hiding their plans. See Pelosi and the 25th Amendment.
This is a very important point. One can hate Trump and would rather have Biden I get that, whatever. I think Biden overal is a decent guy who loves his country. However his mind is just about gone. Im not sure he realizes he is running for president most days. There is little to no chance he is able to make it 4 years. Harris is who people are voting for. She is proven hard core socialist. Who would love nothing more than to destroy this country
