OT-Post debate polls...

yes. A private catholic school. Not sure why that matters is discussing socialism and Harris.
I'm just trying to figure out what you understand socialism to be in practice. Quite a few folks on this board have a very shaky understanding of socialism, but they sure use it a lot to attack Democrats. I'm sure much of the hatred is a legacy of the Cold War, and or communist states. At the same time, I guarantee that you've benefited from socialist policies just about every day of your life.

2016 all over again. Trump voters will come out no matter what. I DON’T see Biden voters waiting in line like Trump voters. I see an 84 paint it red wave across the country.

We get it, education, roads, police and fire, some utilities are socialist in nature . That's a common good and also far enough. We don't want complete government takeover of healthcare to make decisions about care of people. We don't want govenment taking over the energy sector. It's not the government's job to pick winners and losers in matters of business. And that's where we see this going. California is now trying to regulate gas powered cars out of existence. Public teachers unions are waging a war against school choice. There are many other examples of governmental overreach. None of this is the job of the federal government.

many trump supporters won't have to wait in line. The system is rigged in favor of whiter communities having great access to casting a vote

It's so much more than that. You have mostly clean water and air because of socialist policies to protect the environment. You have rights as a worker because of socialist policies, and the list goes on and on. Have you seen what school choice has done in Chile? A country that took Keynesian reforms to an extreme. It's been a complete disaster. As for healthcare, we are one of the wealthiest countries in the world and we have a third world healthcare system. It's shocking how bad it is, largely because conservatives raise the specter of socialism and their base falls in line. Most anyone I have ever met who lives in a country with socialized medicine absolutely loves it. And my brief experience was similarly positive. Europeans, Australians, Canadians, Cubans and many more are dumbfounded by our system. No one tells them what to do in their countries, that's just the BS that Republicans sell to their base, and their base doesn't know any better so they accept it as fact.

American Healthcare is overly expensive because of over-regulation. We are getting raped by drug companies that protect their monopolies. Did you know Trump is fixing this? my wife talked to a lady who said they're EpiPen was now down to $35. He's getting a handle on insulin to. It's downright shameful that we subsidize other countries medicine and that we have to import it back in in order to save money. I've also talked to Canadians and people from England who aren't too impressed with their own Medical Systems. You will wait long periods of time for routine procedures. Some people die waiting for procedures that we can address quickly. And if you have any money whatsoever, you're coming to the u.s. for the very best treatment in the world. We do have millions of fat sick people who have horrible health as a result. I don't necessarily blame it on the healthcare system.

And since this seems to be your wheelhouse, what do you think is driving the likes of Bernie and Kamala? What kind of redistribution needs to be done? I know big govt socialist policies have places like California 'feeling the Bern' so to speak and not liking it too much. Even ultralib Bill Maher admitted as much last week.

There's some in here I agree with, and some I don't, and some I'm just not sure what to think. It's more than just regulation that makes healthcare expensive. Drug companies are a huge problem, and I know that Trump has pledged to do something about it, but I haven't seen anything significant just yet. And we do subsidize other countries, but our government allows it because big pharma has them wrapped around their little finger, while the American public goes round and round. And we do have lots of fat sick people, and most people would tell you that education, exercise and preventative medicine go a long way. But with so many people who don't have healthcare, and the cost of care beyond their reach, they wait until their heart explodes before they seek care. There are things that can be done to significantly cut down on the costs, but mostly Republicans fight tooth and nail to maintain the system we have, which is a mess, unless you are fortunate and have good insurance. And when they tell us it's too expensive to have a socialized medicine, or some hybrid thereof, consider that we pay more, meaning taxpayers, for our miserable system that many countries that have socialized medicine.

If you looked at each as who would you want running the country if something happened to Trump or Biden, Pence was clearly the better choice

'If' something happens to Biden,...LOL

In the unlikely event he wins, Dementia Joe will be dead, ruled incompetent, or both within 6 months of taking office, and then we get KamaLaLa Harris.:confused:
