Just curious if others have the same thing. I'm in IT which means 90% of my friends will at best have a cursory level interest in sports. Most of them would look at me with a blank stare if I told them Nebraska picked up a nice DE commit yesterday. Or worse they would make a comment like, "Are you talking about sportsy things again? I don't know what those are. Did they score a goal unit or something?"
I don't mind that much, because they're genuinely great people and carry on some very good intellectual conversations (and they love beer....that doesn't hurt). But I find myself trying to go outside my normal group of friends when I do my sports activities (Husker games, CWS, etc)
But I'm curious, do most of you surround yourself with like minded sports fans or are we just a small sub culture that lives on the fringes?
