Completely separate case from the Joe Paterno/Football story.
The high profile movie "Birth of a Nation" comes out October 7 (it's had rave reviews and probably was/is the front runner for next year's best picture award especially given it's theme and last year's "too-white Oscar" controversy). But there's a problem. It's just now coming out that the director/star of the movie was accused of rape in an August 1999 incident when he was a wrestler at Penn State. He was acquitted at the time but the brother of the victim (she is now deceased) questions whether that verdict would be different in today's climate regarding campus rape. At any rate the high profile of the movie will probably bring publicity to this issue and that old Penn State case.
