Just saw the story about the Nebraska tourism director being fired. In the story they debated what the slogan for the state should be.
Nebraska Nice is highly criticized and may be on the way out. I'm not thrilled with it but it does capture one of the state's best assets. Unfortunately, I think Iowa and one if the Dakota have the same thing.
Nebraska - The Good Life is still a favorite. Many people say that it is the choice of most Nebraskans. The problem is, the state tourism slogan isn't directed to people who live in the state, it's designed to influence people outside the state to visit.
They showed a variety of slogans used through the years. The one I think that most reflects the state is Genuine. Nebraska. That's the people, the land, the attractions and the allure of the state.
Should be interesting to see how all the tourism office fiasco plays out.
