I had mentioned earlier this year that the town I live in, Garden Plain, is going to play Kearney Catholic. Well they play tonight here in GP at 5 PM. I guess they moved the time up to accommodate the travelling team.
I won't see the game because I coach at a different high school in the area but hope for safe travels for the people from Kearney and good luck. Hopefully the Owls can hang in there.
A little info on Garden Plain: They are 2-0. They beat a ranked 3A school in Hesston (pretty decent team) and a "ranked" 4A team in Wichita Trinity (Trinity has an OL already committed to K State also sent Morgan Burns to K State a few years ago but they are always overrated early in the season.) They are not very big and not very deep but have a very very good athlete at quarterback that I suspect will get some looks at the slot receiver at the D2 level. Garden Plain probably has somewhere around 150-160 kids in the high school to give you an idea on the size of the school.
From my understanding, Kearney Catholic comes into this game 3-0 .
