a few days late, but better late than never.
just curious what cool things some of you on the board plan to take on in your life this year. a new language? more reading? meditation? work out more? more writing? more consistently practicing a musical instrument? learn to blow glass? what?
for me, my focus is on the following things:
my golf game has been stalled a couple times in the last 18mo by being placed on injured reserves, but for me, getting to a 7 handicap by year's end is a must. my goal the following year is a 2 or better. I've been there before so i know how to do it. i'm just not working with a 22yr old body anymore, so there's that to overcome.
definitely more time practicing guitar. i took it up a few years ago, not thrilled with my progress so my plan is to commit to add one new song every 1-2 weeks. some of the easier songs, i'll get done in less time, some of the more difficult will take me a couple weeks no doubt. i'm doing this while still working so, i'll fit the practice in during early morning and evening hours. and here and there for a few minutes during my workday (work from home so pretty fortunate there).
i'm going to resume reading a minimum of 10 pages each night. have committed to that previously and it got me through some great books. it's sort of like doing 1 pushup. once you are down there, may as well do a few more, sort of thinking.
last, i've got a couple writing projects to get to. it will require more discipline with time scheduling than i'm completely comfortable with, but i know that's one of the keys to accomplishment so i'm good with it.
i'm not sure but thinking about getting a ham radio license. not committed to that yet but it's on my back burner and i'm giving myself till the 10th of jan to solidify my goals.
i've got other things floating around and any could end up on my front burner. the question is - what are you going to do in '24?
