Had the good fortune to have found an available time share unit at the Galleon Resort, which is pretty close to the far south end tip of Key West. Head there soon and was hoping for some ideas for drinking, eating, shopping, excursions, etc. I know Duval st. is where a lot happens, but looking for specific names.
We love seafood for starters. Really hoping for some off-the-beaten-path suggestions where you would see more locals and less tourists. Also, spots for live music and any other seasonal festivals, etc.
Also, any input on what the general "vibe" is there, as in similar to Mardi Gras in NOLA?? Party 24/7 ?? Also, beside jet ski rentals, etc. is this an area to hire one of the airboats that are similar to what you see in the Everglades?? Anyone ever done that?? Other fishing options?? Other funky, non-traditional entertainment that is still legal ?!?!?!?
