Tried a combination of some of the suggestions on some steaks tonight for something different for just an average Monday night...

Here's my typical regimen that i normally do:

Prime tenderloin cut into 1.5" steaks. Pat dry. Rub with kosher salt/pepper or montreal. take out of fridge about 1-2 hours before grilling. Cast iron platter on top of gas grill at 450-500. Sear, flip x1 then drop pat of salted butter on top. Doesn't treat me or my people wrong.

Here's what i did tonight for something different. Costco choice sirloin. Made a 1/3 cup bourbon, 1/3 cup soy sauce, 1/3 cup wercestershire marinade (added garlic powder and black pepper to taste). marinated x 2 hours and cooked same way as above.

In full defense - could have been the cut of steak - but me and my family all thought the steaks sucked tonight. wouldn't do that marinade again.

what say you?
