Anyone else watching the "Case Closed?"documentary on the History Channel? This Rackstraw character sure seems like the real McCoy, just don't know if he's the right McCoy. Certainly an interesting suspect to say the least.

That incident was the beginning of the end of buying a cash ticket, not having to show ID, and having friends and family see you off at the gate since there was no security. Even in coach after taking off you ate a big breakfast of an omelet and sausage, had enough room to accommodate a human being, and could top off breakfast by lighting up a smoke. If you flew from Omaha to New York City, the plane took of in Omaha and landed in (you guessed it) New York City.

Just finally watched part 1. When the dad who found the cash was shown the interview, took off his glasses, and turned his head away, the FBI guy took the words out of my mouth. He didn't want anything to do with that recording.
Second, when the recorded interview of the likely suspect was shown, if I were interviewing him, I would have hated his lack of denials. Then he did what a lot of guilty pepole do. He gave a reason why it couldn't be him. "Oh I'm afraid of heights." Pilot and paratrooper. Yea right. $200,000 in 1971 money would make you forget that (alleged) fear real quick.
Will watch part part 2 probably tomorrow. Not saying I believe the reporters yet, but sure think there is some smoke there.

Very strange reaction for sure. But I just can't believe that someone capable of pulling this off would risk including these hillbillies ten years later for no real reason. I still think they are just idiots who by chance found some money, enjoyed the attention and got swept up in the caper and all the conspiracy theories.
Well, that's that. The flight attendant said it wasn't this Rackstraw fellow and the FBI pretty much says, unless someone shows up with the money or parachute they're basically closing the case. I don't think we'll ever know who DB Cooper is/was.

I'll have to watch that. Sounds interesting. I saw one the other day on the new Alcatraz Theory. The thought is now that they didn't try to swim. Instead they hid under the dock and let one of the early AM boats leaving tow them. When I was out there for the Bowl Game and visited, the Guides were discussing that and it sounded pretty viable.
I think he most likely died in the jump - it was pitch dark and in the middle of a terrible storm. But then I wonder why his family/friends/employees didn't report him missing? You'd think you'd be able to identify him by identifying men who went missing around that time.
I think DB Cooper was in someway connected with the government and when they found out it was him they just got rid of the evidence. Probably some covert guy who wanted to prove it could be done to his other covert guys and the rest is history.
