I fully admit I am an idiot. I have 2 leased S5 phones through sprint. I am being told they have to be turned in or bought for $200 each. Both phones work, but have cracked screens. Can't turn in other working s5 phones, have to match serial numbers.

Does anyone know of a cheap way to get new screens? My little understanding is that the repair sucks just for the glass, and the screen and digitizer are around $130 to $150.

Could I buy a non working phone and use the screen and digitizer, or is it likely the digitizer is bad so that is why the phone isn't working? Also how difficult is a full screen replacement?

Trying to find a solution in the $30 to $50 per phone range, not $150 to $ 200

Please help if you can.

TIA

Phone fix usa, irepair smartphones and I believe selectel wireless all repair screens. No idea on the cost.

Other option is switch carriers and get the contract bought out (if a company will take cracked screen trade in devices). I know US Cellular takes trade in of cracked screen phones to qualify for different promotions.

Check out local facebook trade groups and look for recommendations. Glass only repairs can happen on those phones but you probably want someone with experience

Search youtube for how to replace and ebay for new glass and digitizers. Not all that difficult.

This thread reminded me of this, so I'll drop it here. My brother had a pretty new laptop sitting open on the floor where he sits to watch TV, and his nice whitetail 7x9 shoulder mount somehow fell from it's hanging place on the wall, and you guessed it, an antler point poked right into the screen and ruined the computer. What are the chances...Laughing
