I'm thinking of moving to Arizona within the next year. I want to be close to Phoenix (no more than 30-45 minutes away ideally) but not right in the downtown area. I'm looking for a place that's either developing (lots of new constructions) or already developed but well-maintained with good shopping and neighborhoods. What are some of the better surrounding cities around Phoenix that would be good to consider? I also enjoy hiking and going outdoors, but living right next to a hill or a mountain is not a must.
