OK, that's a little strong, but here's my review of the new Sparky's Fire (I think that's the name anyway).
A little background first...Mr. Todd Morgan, aka @sparky62, gave me crap on Facebook a few month's back because I put Cholula on my eggs and said something about it on Facebook
I have always been a proud supporter of Sparky's. It's delicious and versatile. I won't say it was my favorite sauce ever though, because I definitely like a little spice (yes, I know Cholula isn't that spicy), but whenever I was making wings or whatnot it would often be a featured ingredient. I mixed it with a lot of other sauces and created delicious hybrids (ranch for pizza, bbq for ribs and wings, etc).
Graciously, at my request, Todd sent me his very last jar of his first batch of the fire sauce (sorry guys who were trying to get a jar).
In honor of being teased on Facebook, I decided it was going to accentuate my omelette this morning. My omelette was my fairly usual recipe...cut up some link sausage, tomatoes and onion and add some black beans and a tiny bit of sharp cheddar (trying to keep it healthy) and beat up 2 egg whites and 1 full egg. Pour the egg in the pan and add the ingredients to one side. Fold it over, flip...tada! (I later added sour cream, but tried it without first so it wouldn't mix the flavor at all).
The sauce is...well I'll just be blunt....WAY BETTER THAN ORIGINAL SPARKY'S (and that's not at all a dig on the original). I honestly could put this on just about anything. It has the mostly similar sweet taste of original at first but then after a bit the spice kicks in and it is de-freaking-licious. It's not overpowering, really (though I think I'm pretty spice tolerant), but it is a decent kick.
I plan to try some more recipes later on, but this is a HUGE win in my book. I might not ever use the rest of my Cholula.
Well done Todd...well done
