Linked below is a handy (NSFW) map of the usage of ten common curses based on geography. Scroll down about a half page to the map where you click on the particular curse and the map shows its usage across the country.

A couple of observations:
- The traditional south avoids the most vulgar expressions, preferring "sh*t", "bitch", and "damn" more than anyone else
- The compound curse "Mother F***" is a big favorite in South Texas and other border regions. Its the pretentious linguistic equivalent of a 10 gallon black Stetson.
- "Darn" is an upper Midwest thing and "gosh" is big in the bible and dust belt (with an intense concentration in Western Nebraska too)
- Iowans says "a**hole" a lot more than Nebraskans, apparently reflecting what both Nebraskans and Iowans think of Iowans
- There is a very distinct and intense cluster of use of a vulgar female genitalia curse in and around Nashville. This may, in turn, reflect an intense cluster of female Country music recording artists. This particular curse is also a big favorite in Manhattan and Lawrence, Kansas, for obvious reasons.
